Names Jim and I am new here, so I just want to say hi before I lurk a bit and read a bunch of the old posts while listening to the G.D.
I think I have a Toyota addiction...no I don't? Don't listen to her! Its yard art, that's all LOL
[Some of my junk actually runs and may one day serve a higher purpose, who can really say?]
So far I tipped a beer  with Ryan S. who lives just north of Duncan and grabbed a coffee with Rob L. here in Nanaimo close to where I live in. Both guys are super genius Yota masters :) with great stories of bygone cruiser adventures...just never enough hours in a day.
Seriously if those guys are any reflection of your V.I.C. club well I would sure like to get involved.
Anyways, open house here anytime anyone wants to Land CRUISE up Island. Coffee is always on and the beer is usually cold if any is left. PM for directions.
All the best
JIM

Welcome.

Glad you got to meet some of the guys already... its an eclectic group alright.

Nice Avatar! Got any more pics of the ol'girl?

Hi Jim, good to hear from someone up our way. I was out back yesterday rearranging my 'yard art' with Red9 who left
with a set of fenders and one of my 2F's. Then Rob L dropped by for a beer and to pick up his new/old windows.
If you see my snorkel powered green 60 driving around, stop me for a visit.
Always time for coffee ( I'd hook up an IV, but the little wheeled stand keeps falling over!)
What do you drive? Does it run? HaHa! PM me for coffee or beer, be nice for a meet and greet.

Thanks for the warm welcome posts and I look forward to all the beer we are going to drink! LOL
So far I have been working on my FJ40 [yard art for now] the insurance ran out on my HJ60 [yard art now too] and driving my BJ70 [she's so rusty that it should be yard art but just wont quit] Ultimately, hoping to build a myself a diesel 40...dream on!

Hey Jim, sounds like you have all the makings of a diesel 40 there...a rusty bj70 is handy that way, or as a prado 2lt improvement kit:grinpimp:

There are some club rules/guidlines that aren't posted, they're just known.

Don't help Toshi or andrew with a project, don't listen to rob, don't buy anything from me, make fun of cam's audi fetish and lack of a cruiser as often as possible, take no advise from ontario(or alberta)...there's other's I'm forgetting I'm sure....you've already broken at least two...

Seapotato conveniently forgot to mention himself in his words of wisdom.....

Never try to out drink him or even keep up, its a futile endeavour even for the most seasoned livers.
If he offers you tasty home brew cider.... tread lightly. Its like crack and absinth in a plastic bottle.
If either are involved during price negotiations you are loosing the battle already.
He keeps the Witch Piss (cider) in his so called root cellar.... If he gives you a shifty look and offers you some, make sure he gets it for you, don't go down there.

Sometimes when visiting the Potato Patch its best to bring a tent, an extra liver and make sure its a long weekend.

Christ... I just left 10 beer at your house 3 days ago and you're still warning people off?

Also don't listen to cam.... .drinking in the potato patch is always enjoyable... and Mr and Mrs potato love golf flags as a little gift.

Haha so far there is a dude with an audi fetish living in a Potato Patch, it just keeps getting weirder! LOL
Robs stopping by right now to set the story straight....

Ah geeeze... don't get me started on Robbie! LOL.

As with most of us Jim however does have a typical cruiser addictions, that is why we are all here to day for the intervention...;)...

So we walked around his yard, counted two running FJ40s, one BJ70 very rusty with OME and 8274 winch, HJ60 with 200K off original owner, very cool vw westi van and a super cool old Coleman tent trailer....oh forgot dodge 3500 diesel like Cams and a fifth wheel in the back forty..

Got a new local short wheel base cruiser buddy to hit the back roads with, more fun with two specially when ya get stuck..thanks for the coffee Jim...

Rob
