Hi. I am trying to remove the top frame from the bottom part of my FJ40 doors. I removed all of the screws and the wing window mechanism, but it still will not come out.

I think the window/crank is snagging. How do I remove this?

Thank you
Hi. Not sure how to start a new question in this forum. It always seems to ask me for a member name to send it to. But I have a door related question.
I have a 77 FJ40 and the drivers door is missing the door stop. I got a replacement from Specter but I can’t figure out how to install the part. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks.

The link that attaches to the door pulls out of the stop mechanism. The mechanism bolts in behind the pillar with the two screws.

In this picture, the link is only partially pulled out. You can see the rest of the link sticking out the back.

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply. There’s two posts inside the part. One has a roller (guide?) and the other one has two washers. I’m assuming that this post goes through the slot in the new part. Ah? There’s a cotter pin on one side of the post so if I remove it, the post should come out and I can insert the new part. I’ll try that.
Thanks for your help.
