How the stock bumpers should have been made!

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I do what I can do it to make it a head turner for sure!

then put a decent set of bumpers on it. the cruiser looks good, but the factory bumpers will do nothing to keep it looking that way, should something or one decide they wish to spend some time with you in your current space.

Oh I couldn't agree more. Being a college student, I cannot whip out $1000 plus for the set of bumpers I'd like on the 80 right now. But the next practical thing for me are sliders. They are a must.

how did you black out the grill, looks good.

I took of the grille, sanded it and paint. Pretty much the same process. Thanks bud

I really like the bumper.

How did you address mounting, and the bumper caps?

So many questions.

Thanks! As for the mounting, nothing has changed. I didn't cut any support brackets. I managed this by unbolting the upper nut on the support brackets so when I made the final cut, the bottom half just fell down. As for the end caps, they are bolted to the steel center piece near the top so I had nothing to worry about.

Feel free to PM me those questions if you are wanting to go about this project!

I have my drier turned and tucked, hasn't affected the a/c one bit.

How did you go about trunking and tucking the drier? Any pics of the mod?

until you park near a bouleard or light pole, and some kid wraps the one end around the pole and back onto itself. Or better yet around a steering arm.

That thing'll catch on stuff off roading and your shackles are a bit small to use it for pulling anything good and stuck in the muck. Poser points, Just saying.

Otherwise not a bad looking 80.

Nice work with the bumper. I think it really changes the look of the stock front end -- for the better. Just still realize that its pretty thin metal that you basically slightly weakened.... be careful.

As far as the chain. Just take it off. It serves no purpose whatsoever and is just likely to cause damage to the truck - either malicious or self-inflicted.

hah yeah my thought process on that is if i trimmed it, it would be outta the way and would increase my approach angle, so hopefully it wouldnt hit anything. but anything can happen on the trail but yeah, the ends' are pretty flimsy. thanks!

the chain was to poke fun at a SC friend who wrapped a chain on the front of his h3. its off now

Great way to transport the fishing poles! Nice looking truck.

I like it a lot, fairly easy to load and unload the rods. the ONLY negative thing is that the rods are exposed to the elements where as some people store them on the ceiling inside
