How much does a transfer case weigh?

I just finished packing an weighing my old HDJ80 transfer case. It weighed exactly 49.50 kg.
I replaced with a 1993 model that a friend gave me for free, cause the post 1993 models have viscous coupler.
Mine is 1991 HDJ80 automatic. (The central differential lock engine is not included, so take some little weight out).
And, also, it threw some oil but it still has some, so, completely dry may weigh a little less.

110 lbs? that sounds WAY high... 49.5 lbs sounds more like it.
sorry, never weigh one but i have handled lots and it didn't feel like that much... maybe i am just stronger than i thought

I thought 50kg was a bit much. I have one in a plastic tub in the shed and I reckoned on 25-30 kg

My transfer has the transfer itself and the central differential in the same pack, maybe this is a stupid question but, could it be that you handled transfer cases of part time 4wd without central differential?
I think the scale was ok, as I weighed myself before and showed about the same I weigh in every scale.
Could be that the automatic tranfer cases weigh more than the manuals? I know that the automatic 80's weigh more than the equivalent in manual, mainly because the transmission itself, but maybe also because of the transfer.

The OP is presumably talking about part time T/cases found on 7* series
That really surprises me you'd say that wayne... no freaking way it weighs 50lbs or less
I definitaly believe 50kgs
maybe i'm thinking with the tranny attached, but 50lbs seems light!
