On my 17 LC Highway and City average as I reset the computer every 5k..

1st 5K with 93 octane 16.1 mpg
2nd 5K with 87 octane 14.7 mpg
3rd 5K with 89 octane 15.7 mpg

2013 LC200 here. Stock and running Cooper Discover HT Plus tires. 12-15 MPG while running errands in town. I recently got 20 MPG on a 1000 mile road trip. Mostly 65-70 mph with a little 80 mph added in. 87 oct top tier gas from Costco mostly.

Lol!!! I was joking about this earlier! This is my LC after some traffic. It’s also why my wife drives a Prius!

It’s just a stock 2013 with rock warrior wheels and BFG KO2 tires.

Yikes! My stock 09 LX570 gets routinely 11-12mpg in the city, lots of stop and go.

On the freeway it can get 17-19mpg.

But no doubt about it, these trucks are thirsty and drink fuel like it's Kool-Aid. I've thought a few times about getting a Prius, but then the LX would probably just sit in the garage unless it's winter or I'm lugging bikes/transporting furniture/family trips.

Sorry to revive this thread, but has anyone tested the accuracy of the fuel economy display in our trucks? My vehicle is stock and I haven't put a whole lot of mileage on mine yet, but I'm typically seeing much higher economy that most are reporting (18.5 highway @ 75mph and 16.6 commuting and around the city in Sport+). I've downloaded Fuelly now and will check for myself, but was just curious about others experiences.

Yes, I've done it by dividing miles driven on a tank by gallons added. It's pretty close. On stock tires your speed reads a bit over (so 62 when actually going 60). So your actual mileage will be about 3% less than it says.

When I first got mine I did the math to check MPG extensively. It was pretty much spot on. I drive very concervativly. I get just under 14 mpg in town summer, just under 13 mpg winter in town, ~18 mpg highway going 60-65 mph, and 8.5-9.5 mpg when I tow my camper.

For those of us that went with larger diameter tires and saw a reduction in gas mileage, aren't we actually going further than the on board computer thinks now? So we are actually getting better mileage than what the on board computer is reporting.

True, of course. I find that my speedometer is about 8% off running 35’s. So ya, 10MPG is closer to 11...etc.

Still pretty horrid... :)

Yes. On 34s, my speedo reads about 5% slow (actually going 63 when it reads 60), so my MPG is actually 5.2% better than reported.

My 18' gets around 16mpg, my 11 gets around 14 mpg. Overall not a lot of difference either one given the right driving circumstances can move up to 15 or down to 15. I do believe the 8 speed on the 2018 has helped a little.

Most driving 30 to 40 mph stop and go average 12 miles per gallon on premium highway can be 18. LX570 stock 2015 30k miles running 285/55/20 BFG AT/KO2’s. Mileage figured by hand

Low mileage is good for my business. Our main clients are the oil refineries and pipeline operators. They appreciate all your business too!

Funny thing is, I average 15-16 MPG on my LC and I used to get 22-24 MPG on my Tacoma but after 6 months I find that I’m at the gas station roughly the same amount and spending 5-10% more $$ in the LC. I’m guessing I will spend $200-$300 more in gas over a year. That savings would barely buy me 1 tire I’ve made peace with the fact that unless I’m driving a Prius, the cost of gas doesn’t make much difference when I drive less than 12K miles per year.

Me either I drive 7k to 10k miles a year ;) At the price of premium fuel I figure it costs me $80 more per month to drive the LX570 versus an eco o box. Worth it to me!

@04UZJ100 I kinda agree. We should stop talking about MPG and like jumbo jets and ocean liners we should start measuring in pounds of fuel...

She's got 165K on the clock and averages 16 on the highway bone stock. Tire pressure is on the high side at 38psi and I run 87 octane with the standard paper filter. One day I put non-ethanol gas in her and 140 miles later this what dream-o-meter said:

Around town, i’m About 8.7 - 9mpg.

Feel better now? :hillbilly:

We have a Prius, a hybrid highlander, and a 2013 LX. Drive the hybrids around town during the week. The highlander is good for some road trips and as a nice, efficient family hauler. But come the weekend and adventure-centric road trips, we relish in driving the LX and never give mpg a thought.

It works for us. We fill up the hybrids maybe once a month. Usually the same for the LX. Overall, it spreads the wear and tear out over the three. It keeps the overall mileage low on the LX which means fewer service visits (insanely expensive) which mean lower TCO and longer useful lifespan for all of our vehicles because we use each of them for the purpose in which they were intended.

I love my 200, but it is not an ideal vehicle for many scenarios. City driving isn't just rough on gas, it is an exercise in patience and deliberation. Still, I knew what I was signing up for so I am not complaining. If anything, driving the LX necessarily causes me to slow down and take it easy. I never feel compelled to hurry up to go anywhere in it. I really appreciate that.

Overall, through about 6 months of ownership of a 13 LX with 100k miles, I am averaging around 13 with probably 60% highway and 40% everything else (city, offroad, scenic byways, etc). That is only about 3k miles though.
