Hood Latch Bumpers

Actually, my final product was this, with a small thin nut:

However, if I were to have my latches powder coated again, I'd cut the bumper part off like @UZJ40 did.

I did similar except I had a small stainless Allen bolt and use a small nut. The small nut half was away from the body and simply tightened the Allen bolt with my fingers using 9/64" bit.

Well shoot....I don't see how the SOR hood hook pads will work for a OEM double sided look.

One of my bumpers just broke and I really like your final solution. Where did you source parts/#s? Thanks for sharing your research and solution!

@GA Architect, would you mind sharing the part numbers and source for the bumpers you used in your final iteration? I'm about to sand blast some latches for my 6/77 FJ-40, and at this point, their rubber pads are rock hard.

As for the nut on the screw post, I picked up a couple of small nuts from ACE Hardware and painted them black. Here are my units after a few years....and still look good to me.
