Not sure if this it's the right place to post it, but I bet there are few owners of this generator here ..

I have mine for couple of years now and few months ago I realize forgot the last time start it .. sure enough carb was crap with sludge from gas there for long period ..

So I replace the carb with a new one ( Honda ) and add a peck cock to cut fuel in an attempt to store it dry .. that works partially well ..

fast forward I started ( months later ) and indeed it start .. but idle was kinda rough .. so I cleaned the carb the idle screw and such ..

It ran better but still rough compared when it was new .. paying attention seems like the auto throttle electric device on top of the carb it's " pulsing " or just not steady hence constantly adjusting the idle ..

comments and experiences are greatly appreciated ...

Here we have the EU2000i. I imagine it is similar. I had that one and the Yamaha EF2000is. I had more problems with the Yamaha. I used Seafoam in the gasoline and it smoothed right out. I then began using a fuel additive and Seafoam as needed. It helped quite a bit.

Correct the tittle .. my bad on the model .. we have the same model ( guess it's quite popular ) .. will do the seafoam to see how it works.

I had all kinds of problems ou of our Honda when we spent 6 years in the lower 48. So when we moved back to Alaska 8 years ago sold it and bought a Yamaha EF2000 that has worked perfectly for that time.

After talking to people turns out it wasn’t the Honda that had problems but the ethanol in the gas (we don’t have ethanol in our gas I Alaska). Small engines should always run ethanol free gas and use fuel stabilizer if it’s going to Sit longer then a couple of weeks.

Stabil will solve your fuel storage problems.
If your fuel is going to sit in the tank for more than a couple of weeks, add some before you store it, and make sure to run the treated fuel through the system before storing.
This eliminated fuel problems in the boats after many problems without it.

I also am a strong believer in Stabil...it just works. I also like the spray Engine Starting Fluid.

The Honda 2000 has a little screw on the bottom of the fuel bowl to empty it. I always use stabil and drain the fuel bowl before storing and it always starts on the first or second pull and runs smooth, even after 10 years of ownership.
