Hi guys,
No photos as yet but heres the word on it.
My local 4x4 wrecker in country vic(oz of course) left a message on my phone the other day saying he might have something im interested in,he bought a 47 troopy at some country sale and i think he was expecting me to buy it as ive sent a few overseas this year.
Im not that interested at the moment but he's not a bad bloke so i said i can see if theres any interest,i may score a few free parts off the deal and thats about it.
Hey besides this forum is a great place,ive learn't alot,made a few mates(maybe some enemies) and theres some good blokes on here,so maybe its time i paid a little back.
So he's offered it to me for $3000au. I'll do the groundwork as far as shipping etc is concerned and make sure we have enough papers etc to clear customs,i can also get a letter of compliance from toyota on the truck if need be,have done before.
Now ive only had a quick look at it and its not too bad,a little rot along the rear seems on the body,common spot,and i noticed a bit below the front windscreen on the cowl,i did notice the speedo was at 228,000klms,if the cable isn't broken thats great,it looks like it will clean up quite good,its white.
But until i have a good look and take it for a spin around the block i don't know alot about it yet.
Shipping will be around $2500us,customs clearance/ duties etc $500+,you should have it in the country for under $6000us,and this is when our dollar is sitting around 90cents US.

Now this truck is alot better then i thought it was,i have shot the few small rust spots,there is none below the windscreen,they have put silicon on the windscreen frame seal where it meets the cowl,i thought it must have been rusty when i had a quick look the other day,doesn't look so.Front floors look good,a little surface rust and about an inch of dirt!It is very straight,i can't remember seeing any dents or knocks.Chassis looks completly rust free.It is filthy dirty,its been used to poke around a farm the last 10yrs he said.
I will spend a day jetwashing it before shipping if anyone wants it.

Now the good part,we put trade plates on it and i ran it up the road for a few klm's,the battery was flat so he jumped it,i was at the back when it started,No white or grey smoke at all.just black,the motor sounds like new,box and diffs are noise free.
The speedo works so its travelled 228'000klms,and the motor and box sound like it.Unscrewed the oil filler cap and there was absolutely no blow by.Small weep on the gearbox,rear seal looks dry,brakes need adjusting,steering needs alignment/adjusting.
The only faults are one broken rear sliding window and we haven't got one locally,broken drivers door handle,a new one comes with it.
If you cut the few little rust spots out and blow a fresh coat of paint on the outside you will have a dam nice low miles HJ47 troopy.

Its way better then i thought it was animal,not alot around with those miles anymore.

Animal it is in great shape,you can tell just by how straight it looks,original paint,most cheaper troopies have done 3-500,000klms,have been messed with left and right,10 coats of paint,u know.
Its a cinderella,just needs someone to take it to the ball.
 
Is it 12 or 24 volt? Have you driven it?

This truck with the couple of small rust patches on the body cut out and cleaned up will come up a treat.
I think the mech side of it will be adjust the brakes(maybe new pads/wheel cylinders) change the fluids and filters,i'd knock the knuckles over as a precaution but thats up to the owner.
 
Yep, you sure did... Totally my fault. Well, I'll blame it on work since I was on a business trip. Fawkers.
