Hi,thanksNice. What’s the story.
What makes it a 47?
Hi,yes you are correct it’s a HJ47 because the motor is a 4lt - straight 6.(2H motor)It's has a 2H diesel to be a HJ47. The H engine was a H45. My guess RHD with the insert dash and flat inspection cover on the transmission hump it's a 82 made before 10/82. Be interested if it's later. It's was probably a kit assembled in Africa.
Yes it's my daily driver! Is this your personal HJ47?
Hi,yes you are correct it’s a HJ47 because the motor is a 4lt - straight 6.(2H motor)
It’s a South African built Landcruiser therefore it has some differences to the rest of the world like the inspection cover on the transmission, the load bins wheels arches are squared in stead of rounded off.
It was first registered on the 18-05-1982.
Thank you,it’s been a good 7 months!Your inspection cover would be the same as the rest of the world for a 82 model. Still trying figure out if any 83 models still had the flat inspection cover. 83 model (10/82) a five speed was available on some models and the inspection cover foot print and height changed. Looking to see if I find pictures of 83 model 4X series with a flat cover. It was your insert dash and flat inspection I was using to date your's as a 82 model. Very nice cruiser. Amazing work on restoring it. Just wish I had the shop like that and skills to that level of work.
Thank you!Very well done!
