It's old enough now that you can get it in with the original title, so no worries:)

I'm not far from Rostrevor: Kensigton. My wife went to Mercedes, but some of her friends' husbands went to Rostrevor. Very pretty campus. I go hiking up Morialta Falls pretty regularly. Have you been back recently?

Cheers,

Josh

No, but I plan to. I went to Mercedes with my sisters before 3rd grade. Rostrevor from 3rd to 5th. Then back to the states. We lived in Stoneyfell.

FJ47? - Mr HJ47 correctly called me out on this creative naming. I absolutely defer, but it does seem to fall into a weird niche. In the era of HJ47 manufacturing, but clearly not an H engine. Seemingly past the 45 series of manufacturing as we know it, but with an F engine. I'm still learning....

I want to be on the registry too!!!

Hi there!

Been on MUD for a bit and thought it was time to register my HJ.

1983 HJ 47 RHD from Oz VIN# HJ47028673

Most of the goodies on it are listed in my signature so I'm not gonna repeat them here but I think it's a pretty unique rig. Born as a cab and chassis P.U. and then outfitted with a pop-top camper by the P.O. She's got onboard stove, fridge, 140L of fuel, 70L of water and tons of storage. BTW, I'm the 2nd owner (if you don't count the importer who drove it around Oz for a bit...). She's got about 228,000kms on the clock and is a strong runner. Got the compression checked and changed all her fluids and I'm now getting ready to take her out to where the road ends in Labrador, north-eastern Canada.

I'll try to attach some pics but not sure if it'll work or not. If they do show up, let me know what you think, OK? The photos don't give her credit as she looks a lot rustier than she really is. If you look closely, you'll see it's mostly the accessories that are rusted.

Hello all-
Bought my Troop over a year ago in AU, it is a RHD Just turned 25 years yesterday and waiting for the boat to get here now... Any information as to production numbers or what exactly I have aquired here.
1984
HJ 47-037419
As far as I know it is original paint, has power steering, factory air, floating rear end, and (ashamed to say) don't remember if it is a 4 or 5 spd. (I don't really care if it is a 2 speed I am going to drive her regardless!)
Grey in color and was told byt the PO that this is one of less than 1000 produced- when ordering parts from Japan factory PO was told this... I have not verified maybe ya'll can help.

Howdy Fumes,

Do you live in the US or Canada? If so, which State/Province? Congrats on the new rig- let us know what you think of it when it arrives.

Cheers,

Josh

Hell Josh, Thanks for the welcome I am in Florida USA- I can't wait for her to get here at this point...

i have been having dreams about driving it and what its gonna look like when it gets here.

On another note how can I find out if this is a rare truck as the PO told me it was one of less that 1000 produced... He told me this after he had contacted the Japanese factory to order parts...?

God Bless all touched by 9/11/2001, I remember it like yesterday and the pain I felt.

I don't know how you can find this out; I wish I knew. Please post it here if you do find out! Remember that the list of the troopies on the registry is in the very first post.

Cheers,

Josh

Thank you for the info. I am in the processing of convert my FJ40 into a longer wheelbase of using the FJ62 chassis whiches the wheelbase is 107.5"
I did not remember where I read some info. in the internet about the FJ45 wheelbase have two different lenght of them 95.7" and 104.3"
Can you measure your FJ45 wheelbase to get the actual lenght?.
Any input info greatly apreciated.

Charly

I get 115.75" - and my springs are worn out in the front. mine is a 1978 FJ45

Just for s***s-n-giggles I measured the other side and got 116.25" - good thing I am putting in all new suspension

Thank you for the double wheelbase measurement.
I would like to convert my FJ40 into the FJ45 pickup but, the after market LWB bed is to pricy for me..... :o
Very hard to find an old used bed in my area.

You might find that a used bed which has more metal than rust will cost more than one of Kevin's beds- especially by the time you fix all the rust on it.

I hope you are going to do a thread on your conversion!

Josh
