Hello gentlemen. My search has been on and off for a diesel troopy. Mostly as they seem to be scarcer than hens teeth. If anyone knows of one would appreciate a heads up.

Cheers

Very easy to get in RHD but not cheap. Get one in Australia and bring it up - very easy to do but again, not cheap.

Thanks Josh. Looking for a LHD. I have seen plenty of RHDs it's the lefts that are trickier to find ; )

Now is a great time to pick one up in Europe: the Euro is down (and perhaps out), unemployment is way up and their cafe culture is unwinding. Find a clean one in Southern France, Italy or Spain and it should be fairly rust-free. Germany has a number but their economy is not as bad (refer back to the cafe culture comment) and they salt their roads pretty heavily.

When I lived in Central America they were all over the place but they are pretty badly treated and rusty.

Another idea is to get a RHD and convert it using an Aqualu tub - very nice, though agian not cheap - way to go. Great rig for Toronto too. If you don't care too much about body rust than options increase and prices decrease down here.

I want one too. I don't care so much about the engine because 2f's are very common and easy to find but I will probably be doing a diesel engine swap anyway... just want a fairly good body. some rust is acceptable but if the entire tub is rusted that is not. If I can't find one by next summer for around 5k ill just go to my backup and get an FJ60. does anyone know of any for around that price that I can get in preferably the US? I don't want to try to import a car the legal or illegal way.

Lots to learn... I almost feel guilty having it in Chicago. I really don't want to see it deteriorate. Trying to figure out how I'm going to deal with winters... :(

My Troopy

My troopy is already on the list, but I have added some goodies. Still searching for a pair of original troopy rear bench seats.
