just curious. What is the attraction to the drive plates? I replaced mine because of the reported wear and tear but honestly who notices. Thanks Rick

If I remember correctly most fj40 came from the factory with drive plates. Most dealers took them off and installed locking hubs. A lot of hardcore wheelers like them because they are very reliable. A lot of restoration people like them because they are rare and original equiptment.

But I could be wrong. Have know to be before.

Landpimp says they are still available.

E-bay selling them cheap

I'd say to hold on to them. They make good spares
