Mine did... On my 40 I was taking the plate off of the bottom of the U bolt, it was sticking so I did what any respectable mechanic would do, whack it with a BFH right? when I did it shot off and hit my left hand (the downward curved side) I had mechanics gloves on and it did this....

Now that ring is Titanium, it hit the ring directly, and from what the doc said, if I hadn't been wearing it I would probably have a funny looking wave. Any ways, hope you get to feeling better soon...

Just can't stress safety enough when turning wrenches.
I've had a few close calls myself, almost put out an eye once, but I am much more careful now.
