My L52 is on its way out...

So, the hunt for a new tranny was on. I found one and the guys says its from a 93.
I just need to make sure what tranny it is before I call Marlin up for some parts...

I am pretty sure its a W-56D but just wanted to run it by you guys first to make sure its not for a v6.

Thanks agian,

It's definitely a w56 but I according to Marlins website the w56-D model was only available until 1992. 1993-1995 trucks had a w56-E. I don't think there is much of a difference but you never now.

Here is a link to marlins site. It showa profiles of every Toyota truck tranny.

Thanks, I saw that. Just there was no picture for the W56-E and was wondering if it was. It could be either I think.

I am amazed at how many different transmission are found in pickups.

They kept incrementally improving them as problems showed up in the design.

In a few days I'll have my W56-E out and be putting another in so I could compare then.

i didnt know there was another tut truck guy here?! just nick and rusty. cube is sparse.

I thought the A and B's were for 2wd apps.

Didn't know they made a top shift W-56.
All W56 versions got used in 4WD pickups. If I remember correctly the As and Bs have smaller bearings somewhere important.
