Dustin, you need to mention the rally racing experience with the 100 series that you don't want yor wife ot find out bout when we went to check the snow depth
Well she knows now! Thanks a lot! Now he's sleeping on the couch! :meh:

She wouldn't be on the site....

I will give you a hint, I had my FJ Cruiser with locker and the other fun stuff they come with the same size tires as his 100 that is set up the same way. I was taking corners at 50 and doing the Hong Kong slide around corners. I get to the bottom of the hill and had to wait a little too long. I was not too worried becasue he was driving much slower than I was (got a bit scared from almost hitting a group of sledders standing in the middle of the road and would not get out of his way) Think deer in the headlights....

He mentioned something that sounds a lot like doing a 360 and not only hitting the front driver side, but spun around and hit the back driver side. Luckily, the snow was so soft that it didn't do any damge. If it was a week later, it would hve been like a brick wall.

It took a Jeep (with portals, two super low trannys, and 42s and probably the most well built jeep I have ever seen) to go 20 feet in two hours.... Way too much snow for having any type of fun.

fxxxin awesome build man, love the fab work thats gone into this and i can appreciate how much energy goes into a job like this having done this myself. whats the 3link front drive like on road under the heavy 80 series ? cheers.

not bad until i cranked the caster to better the pinion angle. now its a little squirly at speeds. it aint no porsche but i can do 60mph all day

I have to say, props on this build too. It's awesome. Add some gear reduction and it's the best of all time. Headed there in my 60 only with a 14 bolt in the rear.

Dusty-Maybe you can do Dusy with us this year in early August?

Yep. my place for base camp. last year the job pulled my from your run. looking forward to this year for sure. And Drew you need to drive my truck-its gears are half again deaper than stock as it sits.

by squirly do you mean if you swirved quickly it'd feel like its gonna roll ?

not that bad. just doesn't want to track as tight as it should. I could probably clean that up with a little more toe in but i dont bother as my truckis a trailer queen now. She has the good life

and the 80 has taken a back seat for the past couple weeks. buildin a new wheeler. replaced that busted fender and rear crossmember today. replacing the windshield frame and bpillar tomorow

that's gonna be fun!

yea will be fun. ive always wanted to wheel an H1. She is almost back together after popping a hundred rivets this weekend. my old highschool shop teacher and class here at Hanford Highschool are going to prep and paint her for me. luckily its just a rivited army truck. how much damage could the kiddies do? and the price is right.

and a pic of my 80 at a recent trip to utah

The question I have is HOW did you land getting an army ed. Hummer? I've tried to get one, but to NO avail.

Again. st george at xmas time

im telling you guys. there are trails in st george that would blow your minds. i havn't even shown you the cool stuff. trails that few know about but they are just fun. like behind the rocks at moab with canyons but a lot closer for those that live in southern ca and want a much closer wheeling experience. you could wheel for days right outside of st george and never cross the same path

Dusty you gonna start a new thread for the Hummer? what size tires you plan on running?

Where is Dusy?

Your tracking issue is not for the width of your Iroks? i know my 36x15.50s like to go where they want to. never had a tracking issue with 12.50s

i dont know if Woody wants a humvee thread. if he does sure
Right now it has stock 37" military. if I upgrade the halfshafts to the 12,000 lb ambulance shafts i could run 38.5's with little issues. the soft top humve only weighs 5300 lbs. (But im thinking of upgrading to light armour ;))

ill never know because my tire size is never going lower on this lexus

slight H1 tangent....
... my first "real" wheeling trip was with a college buddy who had a fj40 and wheeled it hard. He asked if i wanted to go with him one weekend to TN and wheel with other cruisers and some H1 guys. I said heck yea.

Well, we had a blast and i was amazed at the stuff these guys were driving their trucks over!!

The biggest difference i noticed between the cruisers and the H1's was the fact that the H1 guys had a full belly skid. When they would start to get hung up on an obstacle, they would back up and literally gas it and slide over top of it. The cruiser guys would crawl over it slow and steady.

Fun times and got me hooked!

D, where exactly is St. George? I tried to search it on a map, but came up empty. Looks like some nice wheeling that I'd like to try especially if it is near by.

Where are all the trees, rocks, and mud? No wonder your body looks so good. To me that looks all easy wheeling. :meh:

I totally agree with Andy on this one Dusty. Epic build. I have some good shots of this truck from Moab last year. Great build.

I 2nd the Dusy run in August. I hope to be there too this year.
