Hi guys,

I'm travelling with a german Landcruiser HZJ78 with 1HZ engine.

My problem beginns in elevation above 3000ft. Smoke comes out, no power, max. speed 35mi.

I'm looking for someone who is able to work on the fuel pump to give it new settings...

Travelling in this moment on US93 south in Idaho, next destination Nevada etc.

Can you help me?

Thanks

Willi from Germany

3000ft or 3000 meters? I don't know hz's at all but I would suspect a fully loaded troopie w/o a turbo would struggle at altitude on up hilll grades...

come on! Calgary is at 3400 feet. If it was meter it'd be different. My pidly 3b would still pull 100 kmh on the highway 3000 feet plus going into the mountains.

he has a problem that even a turbo would not fix.

I only asked for clarification because he said ABOVE 3000ft. Does that mean 3000 or 3300ft or 9800ft.(3000meters) He said nothing about hills flats etc. kansas is 3000ft.

My 3b will not pull a 60mph uphill at 6-7% at my elevation without a run into it. I guess it depends on if it's a 1/4 mile climb or 2-3 miles or more. On the flat yes but he doesn't clarify. nor does he clarify if there is a headwind. Headwinds are brutal out here. Blowing 40-50mph or more will seriously slow a cruiser out west. How loaded is the cruiser? Typical 1+ expedition? All things he doesn't mention that should be considered. He very well may have more of an engine issue than a pump setting. maybe not. I wish him safe travels.
