I usually hang out in the 40 section but thought this maybe an earlier top. I just picked this up yesterday and would like to know if this is from a FJ25. The po said 1965 but going through some earlier threads, this seems older. It has the push bottom latches but the only way to keep the latch up us to sit the wheel arms in hooks on each side of the track. Would this be a top from a FJ25?

Thanks, Tom

No the PO was right it likely from a very early 1965 or late 1964

Itf it does have push buttons for the rear hatch minus the lever actuators then it could be a '63 top. Regardless it is from a 40 not a 25.

FJ25 were similar but featured a vent in the rear of the fiberglass top and a higher b-pillar post.

Thank you!

Thank you for the pics. Sure looks the same. I looked through your prior build threads. Great job on those and I am sure, this will turn out beautiful as well.

I picked this up cheap and knew it wouldn't fit my 1971 FJ but hated to see it sit out in the weather and rot. Just trying to figure out exactly what it is so I can trade or sell for something I need for mine. Here is a pic of the rear levers. I searched and read as much as I could film on bifold hatches. Somebody mentioned the hooks that hold the hatch up are not common. Do you know?

Thanks again, Tom

Good of you to save it Tom, the rear levers make it a 64/65 top. I believe the hooks that hold the bi-fold open were present on all hardtop models 58-65. Though I could be wrong.

JP

PS wish you were closer I could use the fiberglass top as you might have noticed in my pics up :D
