HELP! Cruiser died yesterday saving my wife's life, I need a new one ASAP!!!

Wow that was some impact! Glad to hear your wife is o.k.

I hope you can work out a deal on Darryl's rig. It has everything you'd want. I want his pristine restored M-416 trailer badly.

Now I want to be like the rest of the vultures on here (who are also professional collision people who can estimate damage via the internet) and put dib's on your friend's roof rack and bullbar:rolleyes:.

Thanks everybody. The damage might not look that bad, but the engine is now slightly askew leading me to believe that she bent the PS frame rail. The gutters are foofed due to the inertia the roof rack was carrying. The radiator is pushed into the fan as well. USAA is my carrier, and based on preliminary coversations, it sounds like they will total it.

I'm keeping my roof rack. I spent the better part of the last two hours trying to cut the sliders off of the frame rails. Unfortunately (;)), I must have done an excellent job welding them on 'cause they are going down with the ship. This is especially hard since I just finished that project (with free powdercoating), and was proud of the outcome. Oh well!

Here's what I'm driving until I find something new...

It's a close friend of mine's. He said the :princess: isn't allowed to drive it though.;)

I have contacted the seller of this 80:

This would be a good replacement. I would rather buy something with goodies already attached.

Thanks again!

Now repeat after me.... "Must remove sliders and ship to Iron Yuppy.... Must remove sliders and ship to Iron Yuppy.... No effort is too great... no effort is too great..."

Bad, but fixable!!!!:)

Please have someone plasma cut the sliders off.
If you have a cdl switch I need one:)
Glad your family is okay and good luck finding the replacement.

Glad to hear the family was ok. Nice to see the cruiser do it's job, keeping you family safe.

There are plenty of cruisers, finding one should be quick if you are willing to pay. Just don't expect to get a perfect cruiser at a give away price and you will have one soon. Good luck!

Check for sale section on the board. Look in classifeds, edmunds.com, cars.com, autotrader.com....Be a good place to start first. As for the s/c I'd look for one without and then add it yourself you don't know how the past owner had taken care of the engine.

Good luck.
Nick

You can't buy SC anymore.

OP - Glad your wife is ok, and jump on that SC.... Nice deal!!

USAA is totaling it. Bent frame, airbags deployed, etc. Fortunately, they are not picking it up until Monday or Tuesday, so I have the weekend to cut the sliders off. BUT... if I don't use them on something I buy, they are going to mountjoy_99 whose Cruiser I am currently driving.

Still haven't found out anything definitive. I'm actually thinking about an FJ as well (may the flaming commence!).;)

I'll post up pics this evening of the retaining wall she hit...

Thanks to everybody for the good wishes.

Romer, yes it will have a siginificant bumper (doesn't have to be an ARB).

Yesterday, we were driving the loaner 80 when a rich lady in a Lexus (whatever the hell the Highlander is called for them) slid on the ice and rearended us. She got out, and said, "I don't think it damaged your truck." I said, "I know it didn't, I just wanted to see your vehicle and if you would need a police report for your damage..."

Pull some stuff out of the interior--rear seats, switches, radio, console, etc, sell it here to finance some other toys....

You have to be careful on some of that stuff. But I agree. Find a buddy who needs tires or something. It is going to a boneyard unless you buy it back. Send it to it's grave with the crappiest parts you can.

When my 4Runner got totalled (black ice), the air bags blew. Totalled. The air bags alone were $2000 EACH.

I bet you could fix that. Buy it back from your insurance company. Buy your wife a FJC and keep the 80 for yourself.

Ouch! Glad to hear your wife is fine.

Thanks Christo, but I want something a little more wheelable. If Darryl won't part with his than maybe we can talk some more.;)

Uh oh, I smell a post from Shotts coming:ban:

Glad the Mrs. is fine. that is the reason my wife use it as DD rather than driving our German Bahn cruiser.

Pull the cluster will you, I need one.

Bummer talk about bad timing on wrecking the 80! Don't you guys have a couple feet of snow coming your way? On the up side at least your not missing out on a couple months of wheeling in the Taylor park area!

Christo I thought you were selling ALL your toys? You should offer that other blue toy you have sitting there! I didn't get a chance to see it up close but would be willing to bet it could take on the best the Aspen area has to offer!
