Sat the intake on quick tonight, man this is really starting to look good. Big motivation right here!

Found some double hose holding clips on mcmaster and used them to route the fuel lines along the frame to the engine. Theyre even gold zinc plated like the hardware, looking great. Worked on a lot of small stuff, feeling really good about the progress lately.

Love your work here, really clean. Hope to do similar once I find a LS

Are you adding any kind of filtration to the hvac since you have it all rebuilt and removed? I've often wondered if there's a good way to retrofit a replaceable panel filter to the intake.

I wasnt planning on it, honestly its so easy to pull the blower out that its not worth it to me, just pull it off and vac out the large debris once every other year

Quick little project today! This past weekend I went to Unadilla and on the way stopped at my favorite u-pull yard for some parts. Scored some 4Runner wiper arms in great shape, a van MAF, TAC module with harness and pedal, and a new DBW throttle body (the one that came with my engine was broken).

So needed to mount the pedal up, decided to whip up a quick adapter for it. Mounts to the original pedal mount with some flat head M6x1.0 bolts that are countersunk and then the GM pedal just bolts right up using the original toyota hardware in its stock mounting holes. Used some scrap 1/4" (I think) aluminum that was laying around at work. Extremely happy with how it worked out, I made two mounting locations for the chassis side so there was some flexibility, ended up using the lower two holes.

Cut the stock pedal off and didnt a quick look and I think I'll be able to weld it up with very little bending to get it to sit where I want. Thats next.

Finished up my pedal last night, minor tweaking of the stock pedal to get it in the right position left to right and now were all good. Welded it up and gave it a quick coat of paint, then will get it back into the truck and take a photo.

Also, in disassembling the HVAC controls I managed to break one of the small clips that holds the push-pull cables down (see below), does anyone have a part number on these or know the availability?

Determining a way to make a compact H-pipe for the LS heater lines, not running my rear heat right now (also dont like having to rely on that) and I'm not super stoked on the ones you can buy. Forgot I had picked up two plastic tees a long time ago when I was going to plumb in my rear heater, figured I'd give this a shot...

Cut the one tee end off of each, one being 5/8" and one being 3/4", then just slipped one into the other. The seal is super tight which is nice, tomorrow I'm going to have our plastics guy here at work weld these up for me. Should work out beautifully as long as the type of plastic the tees are made from is one that likes to be welded. I work in the design/build waterpark industry so we do A LOT with plastics, when done correctly, plastic welding is incredibly strong.

Got to work on the old girl this weekend, continued getting the front end assembled, passenger side fender has been installed along with the radiator support. Still not attached to the fender tub as I need to seal them while installing them and I want to get the other side on first to check alignment. Looking really good though!

Mounted up my TAC module last night, decided to do it in the cabin, short run to the pedal and easy cruise control wiring. Will mount the relays for CC down here as well using a small sealed block with micro relays. Easy access down the road to it too by just pulling the kick panel, there used to be an emissions module here.

Used a small piece of aluminum, drilled some holes and tapped one, pretty self explanatory from the pictures. Happy with it, leaves plenty of room for the connectors.

More work today, got a lot of small things done which felt nice. Got the breather line for the trans in, a new seal installed on the speedometer cable where it comes into the cab, did some parts organizing, and continued working on getting the front end back together just waiting on my hardware to come back from the platers.

Also pulled out the wiper arm linkage in preparation to rebuild it, got it all apart, removed the old pivot balls, and started cleaning up the aluminum mounts in the vibratory tumbler. Will be doing ball joint ends in place of the old worn ones.

Tore down the wiper linkage and started getting everything cleaned up, sand blasted away and rust/corrosion on the small parts and then removed the ends of the linkage arms to prep for ball joints. The aluminum parts will go into the vibratory tumbler again to soften the finish.

Thinking about purchasing a set of 5/16 tie rod ends that are typically used for small go karts, can get pretty much all the parts I need in one item, from there would just need to buy some shoulder bolts and a few nuts.

Have had a little hiatus from working on the rig, busy at work and doing an overhaul on my E36 has been the main cause. But a while back I sent out some hardware and brackets out to get zinc plated, this was through work and they were nice enough to toss it in with an existing batch they had going out so it was $free.99, and just got them back today. This is good cause the lack of hardware was slowing me down big time.
