I'm in the minority in that I found stock lighting in my '13 LX to be inadequate. The xenons/lenses/etc. are all great, but the bulbs were lacking.

I used HIKARI Ultra LED bulbs (HB3/9005) in high beams, Philips (D4S X-tremeVision Gen2 42402XV2C1) in low beams, and Baja Designs Squadron Sport (Amber, Driving combo) in fog lights. Quite happy with the light setup now.
Thanks for these details! 👍🏻

Are you still happy with this set up? I am underwhelmed by the stock output on my 2015 LX.

Yes, still happy with it.

The only suggestion I could make is to see whether Phillips offers the same bulb in a less-white, more-yellow tone. White light does not reflect off wet pavement very well, so on dark and super rainy nights I do wish for more lighting.

Interesting, thanks. I just experienced the situation you described on a windy, unlit road and it led me to searching for better options.

Meaning the philips D4S x-treme bulbs? Are they whiter than stock HID bulbs?

Yes, meaning those.

I don’t think they’re whiter per-se, but I haven’t compared, especially since my LX came with non-original bulbs. Most vehicles these days come with pretty white bulbs, and I’d imagine these Philips are on par with what the LX comes with originally. I’d prefer a more yellow/natural light tint.

Ah, ok. I just ordered these and wanted to make sure they weren’t approaching blue. I ditched the IPF LEDs I had in the high beams because I wanted a warmer tone for fog/mist situations, and wanted to make sure I didn’t make things worse with the HID bulbs.

For the type of driving that I do, I've found that conditions that are bad for really white lights mean that I should be slowing down anyway, so I kept the white-ish HID's (aftermarket from PO) and went really yellow with my fogs. They're bright as hell and light up a lot, but don't throw quite as far as the low beams. Maybe not a great solution for everyone, but it works for me.

Same setup I have. On top of what you listed, it just looks great when lit up.
If those Phillips d4s bulbs go more white/blue I’ll post.

Hi, which bulbs did you use to replace your fog light ones?

@eatSleepWoof Do you know if the HIKARI Ultra LED high beam bulb is pretty good color match with the OEM low beam? I'm happy with the stock lighting, just not color mismatch.

No idea. I didn't compare colours and this was long enough that I don't remember much details. If you flip through my build thread (link in signature) you'll find some photos that may be of help.

@bloc, how are you liking the Philips D4s?

Nothing short of amazing. They are so good extra driving lights has been ticked down in priority, though still somewhere on the list.

I've got an 08 LC and first thing I did was purchase LEDs off Amazon by CougarMotor for that exact reason. Do a lot of night driving on back roads and nothing beats the beam of an LED or HID when there's no street lights.
However, I would say the headlamp is meant for a halogen not an LED bulb (I don't have the projector lense)
I have an '08 and was curious if your led's are still working and if they produced any flicker? I am trying to sort out a plug & play led or halogen replacement for low/high/fog. I know the '08 headlamp is meant for a halogen so not sure of best solution for one set up for all conditions. Some threads have many references of led failure after <2 yrs.

The LEDs are still working but I actually replaced the low beams with HIDs instead. The LED was too bright and I started to feel like that A hole that blinds everyone with their lights especially being lifted. The HIDs do not scatter the way the LEDs did in the housing and are great. Hi beam is still LED though

I've been looking at these that appear on Alibaba.com. They've got a few different styles to suit the 2008 on models, 2012 on models and 2016 on models. I'me just not sure they'd be "great" quality, but neither are the factory ones now that they are yellowed up, filling with moisture and crazy cracking....

I would expect all of those side effects for brand new aftermarket lights.

Your factory ones are filling with humidity?
