Before you call me an idiot or say that what I did was stupid: I know.

I cut the factory connector from my head unit in favor of directly wiring it up to my new BOSS BV850ACP headunit. Long story short, there are no negative connections for the speakers available for me to wire up at the bundle of exposed wires I have.

I want to bypass the factory amp under the passenger seat and still provide my new head unit power and ground. Any write-ups on how I can do this? I’ll provide pictures of the setup as is (the second photo is of the head unit’s included plug). Any help is greatly appreciated as all shops have quoted me $500 or more to install.

I will also note that I do have the chopped end of the factory connector still lying around.

Eeek! On an early LX, I might understand this, but to my knowledge there are readily available "adapters" for the non-nav LCs.

Speaker level wires are going to be at the amplifier under the passenger seat, there are only preamp inputs at the connector that you cut off.

You might want to look here, for wiring diagrams and explanations:

This...
Go through the TLCFAQ write up... you will end up having to bypass the amp under the seat, no way to bypass that I have seen at the headunit and still use the existing wiring.

If I pulled my dash apart and saw someone cut the factory connector off I would light the whole truck on fire... seriously.... put the factory connector back on.

Then do a search for "bypassing the factory amp" there are tons of threads on how to do it.

Note to self - don't let him borrow a lighter ;)
