I was coming down a hill today when suddenly, my brakes decided to do a partial fail. Buy that I mean that I still had brakes, but the pedal has no feel at all until I hit near the bottom of travel and I have about an inch or so of pedal pressure.

I did a quick check, I have fluid and all of the vacuum hoses are intact in the engine compartment.

Just looking for some ideas before I can dig in and start to troubleshoot things.

Thanks. =)

Sounds like fluid overheat? If so, it's most often from contaminated fluid. If so, replacing/flushing with new fluid should restore performance. On long grades, downshifting is better than dragging the brakes.

The system was cold, I had only been driving for about 5 minutes.
