I have a 94 with a bent and mangled driver door window frame. The actual door itself is great. It was like this when I bought it and I am wanting to have it fixed. A new door is obviously going to be the cheapest/easiest option, but the driver door has the vin label on it and I want to retain it. From what I can tell, the frame is spot welded in place with seam sealer getting rid of any gaps. Is it as easy as drilling out the old spot welds, pulling it out and spot welding in an undamaged window frame?

I've seen it done to an 83 solid axle yota pickup...My ex rolled her little truck 3 separate times. Her dad halved bad cabs and put them back together each time. He rebuilt the door frame on both doors at different times. Ours are welded at the mirror and spot welded everywhere else. I don't see a reason you couldn't do it.
