Jesus - the spitting and sputtering of that turbo.... Sounds awesome.

Turns out the bearings and seals were replaced back in January, so this job is just axle replacement and bumper install.

With the truck "hopefully" finished next week, I'm thinking the following weekend would work.

Would be a good opportunity for everyone to get together, have a beer and see if I can get a 4 wheel burnout going with the new turbo... :)

Who's down?

November 7th.

I will be at a wedding that Saturday in Greensboro.

Wouldn't the inner axle seals need to be replaced after removing an axle? I'm not too schooled on this stuff.

I'd love to make it up that way and relieve you of some beer.

Not sure. Thankfully I thought that the seals and bearings had NOT been replaced so I have all the necessary parts to do a full rebuild. I will defer to Rice on what should/shouldn't be done. Certainly when we get it apart we should replace anything worn or any non-reusable gaskets.

Depends on if they are leaking diff grease into the axle shaft. You can tell by changing the center diff fluid and you'll know if moly is in it. (Assuming we are talking abou the front axle here)

Also it's such a cheap part there really isn't a good reason not to replace with a new one.

Gotta figure that out - I was hoping to do November 7th but it's looking like that might not work. Stay tuned. Need to ask the activities coordinator/wife. :)
