Anyone with a 2016+ lx570 install one? I’m in the middle of it. Everything plugged in comes up on the screen, functions, but no sound at all. The instructions on their site aren’t very helpful, they show an lc. Guy I spoke with briefly earlier today also wasn’t helpful. Now I’m stuck until Monday to call back. Only thing I’m unsure about as far as wiring is this plug labeled speaker, can’t find anywhere to plug it in. It seems like the obvious solution but where to go with it is the question.

Did you select AUX input?

Was this picture taken before you fully connected everything because I see a white plug in the background that looks like it should be plugged into the box.

I don't believe the little round speaker is used in our installations.

Aux input is on the Toyota side of the screen inputs. Under audio select aux as your audio source. This is what most CarPlay units tap into.
Got it, I’ll give that a try. Figured it was something simple that I missed. Thanks for the help.

The white plug you’re referring to in the top left of the picture is for the usb. I tried it with it plugged in and my phone connected to see if it changed anything. I must’ve just unplugged it before taking the picture. Wasn’t certain that black speaker plug went anywhere. Thanks for clarifying.

I installed this in a driveway of an Airbnb last week, and so far, it is working wonderfully. My only issue is the volume of notifications; I can’t seem to set different levels there. So as I normally use my stereo I have quiet background music, then a nave or SMS pops through I’d like that to be louder than the music. I have not been able to solve this yet playing with all of the settings, the announcements are the same volume as the music or lower. I have a note into Hamilton on this.

Otherwise on a 2016 this is a great add on, works flawlessly, easy install, I dig it.
I have a 2021 and am mid install. I don’t think I received the correct wires, and the instruction for the Land Cruiser on their website are actually for the lx. Do you have any guidance on the nav screen wiring? Or do you have a good set of instructions?

Sorry for the delay - it took a bit, but the main loom connectors were actually right, and there are a few extrasthat aren't actually used.

Did you get it sorted?

Not yet. I don’t seem to have a cable that connects to the nav screen (bright blue connector). Did you have one?

I accidentally entered the calibration mode while driving and calibrated the screen at 70mph. This caused my selections on screen to be offset. A quick email to Hamilton advised me that the way to enter calibration mode is to tap repeatedly in one spot until the plusses appear (that's how I accidentally entered it). I found that if I press down anywhere on screen for 10 seconds it also works.

I'm looking at pulling the trigger on one of these sets (Hamiltion, GROM)

It looks like most of you have the Hamilton?

Has anyone tried or seen a post of the complete screen replacements?

There's even the "Tesla" style ones, but I haven't seen any installs done with those.

If they weren't coming from China and I could get a refund I would order them all and give them a go.

I installed the Hamilton CarPlay on my 2020 LX570 about a month ago - DIY. Their video was very helpful and their tech support is great! I had to make a couple of changes in the Setup menu and Tech Support provided the answers and step by step instructions needed to make these changes. It has a 3 year warranty on it which is better than the others that I had researched. Lexus uses a mouse and that would not be my first choice, but that’s a personal preference. Enjoy!

Like the OP, I have a hikity CarPlay screen… and just wanted something more “integrated”. TLDR got and installled Hamilton. Functionally everything is great.

But I can’t figure out how to “swipe” to other pages of apps. What am I missing? (2013 LC, using wireless apple CarPlay with iPhone 13)

Anyone figure out how to show TEXT of messages instead of having CarPlay read it to you?

I'd be surprised if CarPlay allowed that. They would rather you watch the road.

Ok. Figured this out. Touch the screen, swipe slow. Like take about 1 second to swipe and it works. Slow, but works.

I’m pretty sure this is due to the screen and not the Hamilton unit. This slow drag is consistent with dragging the oem map (which I had never done before).

The screen on my lx570 is a resistive screen not a capacitive screen so the touches register by pressure. That makes it feel sluggish but will work with gloves on. I imagine the LC one is similar.

Are people here happy with the Hamilton unit? I see the Grom Unit finally got upgraded to a newer version of android but I have yet tp pull the trigger on any upgrades.

I'm happy with mine. For some reason, going from reverse to drive doesn't go back into AA/Carplay mode every time but that's minor to me.

Typical wireless connectivity issues that AA/Carplay units have in areas of heavy interference. On occasion, I have to turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on when traveling those roads. I don't believe this to be a flaw with the Hamilton unit but the technology in general.

If you need a standalone android OS, you'll have to buy something else. The Hamilton unit's require a phone. The higher end Grom unit is standalone but the VLite is equivalent to the Hamilton units iirc.

For reference: mine is installed on a 2011 LX570
