I installed this in a driveway of an Airbnb last week, and so far, it is working wonderfully. My only issue is the volume of notifications; I can’t seem to set different levels there. So as I normally use my stereo I have quiet background music, then a nave or SMS pops through I’d like that to be louder than the music. I have not been able to solve this yet playing with all of the settings, the announcements are the same volume as the music or lower. I have a note into Hamilton on this.

Otherwise on a 2016 this is a great add on, works flawlessly, easy install, I dig it.
Which audio source do you select to get it to play thru the speakers?

None actually, I attached the harness to the back of the factory (all car connectors, my aux from the harness goes nowhere) and it just worked. I'm assuming that the nature of the harness allows a bypass of the OEM audio source selection, but I could be wrong.

I’m still at a loss on mine. They said I should use the aux source. But I don’t have one. So I just use Bluetooth for the time being.

I just checked, on the head unit in software it is playing using the aux source.

Thank you. I ordered one and will see how it goes. Seems like a better option than the VLine at a lower price point.

The kit came in but doesn't work for the LX570. I contacted Hamilton and they said they have an LX version so I'm optimistic that this will be a good solution.

The LC has a single connector on the back of the CD player whereas the LX570 has two smaller connectors.

My impression of the kit is that it is well made.

Top marks for their customer service. They responded within minutes of my request (Saturday afternoon).

The second unit they shipped was for the newer LX570.

I received the third unit yesterday (2011 LX570 version) and installed it tonight.

This is comparable to the Grom Vlite but is not a standalone android unit like the Vline2.

The installation was straightforward and I got it done in under an hour. I tucked it in the passenger side footwell. The Bluetooth receiver was also tucked into insulation so it won't rattle.

I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get it to show on screen. The trick is to hold the voice command button on the steering wheel and the Hamilton unit's screen is displayed. Once your phone is connected, short pressing the voice command button on the steering wheel will activate the voice command on your phone.

I set the phone volume at max. Media volume at 30. Voice volume at 20. These seem to be good for now.

The phone audio uses the factory microphone. I wasnt able to try a phone call as nobody answered when I called them.

I used the voice recognition for navigating to a destination and for sending a text message. This worked as well as every other vehicle I've used with android auto.

The connection time for wireless Android Auto is just as fast as other cars with the feature.

The warranty is 3 years and support is in the US. You can buy the same unit on Amazon or Ali Express but the benefits of buying from Hamilton outweighed the cost savings for me.

Thank you to everyone that has discussed their experiences and helped me make the decision to go this route.

I spent today running errands which involved using all of the features that I utilize in Android Auto.

The wireless connection for android auto is fast. It is faster than the wired connection I have in my sequoia.

There were no odd occurrences with operation. It came up quickly when starting the car or transitioning from reverse.

Parking notifications overlay the android auto images.

Overall, this unit gets 5 stars. It works so well you dont think about it being aftermarket.

Does it automatically default to the AA or CP screens on start up or does it start up in Toyota and need to be switched? Does it allow the low speed cameras to show and then automatically return to AA or CP after speeding up? Does it Automatically choose whichever phone is present if two are programmed into the device or does it default to the last use phone? Does it return to AA or CP after backup cameras are active?

Sorry, for the direct questions. I guess I'm a little sleepy and threw social etiquette out the window. I've had my CarPlay unit for several years now and those are the deficiencies in my unit. Have thought of upgrading. Mine is a Naviplus.

1. It automatically defaults if you were in AA/Carplay when you shut it off
2. It comes back on after low speed cameras.
3. I only have my phone connected so I'm not sure.
4. It comes back on after reverse.

I thought your etiquette was just fine.

I'm interested in its function for a LX. Ihave a 2013 and this upgrade is on the wishlist.
I drive long distances almost every time I'm in my truck. Android Auto is a safety requirement for me as it helps increase situational awareness because you don't need to look at your phone for navigation.

That's why this was my first project for the LX.

The 2013 should be functionally the same. The harness is different than mine.

Were you offering to make a video showing its functionality earlier in the thread?

Is there an installation video or manual available? Didnt see ant LC200 videos on their YouTube page. Thx!
