H55F top plate question

A quick question about 5 speed swaps.

If you use a 40 series top plate on the H55F ( or a 40 5 speed) do you still need to modify the transmission cover?

My plastic floor is mint and I don't want to cut it if theres an option not to.

@sneaky not sure if this applies to 2f + H55f but @Roadkilldovii 's 12ht+h55f pig there was very little clearance between the gearbox and floorpan. Hit Ben up on fb for more details, i cant remember what he modded..

That is for replacing a 3 speed with a 4 speed, yes?

My understanding is the H55s come from Toyota set up to go in a 60. So the shifter is further to the rear?
