GX470 Seat Covers?

I have these but am still in the process of installing them. They are not really covers; you have to completly remove the old leather before these can be installed. The leather seems to be cut a bit large so I partially rebuilt the seats with additional foam. I tend to get carried away so maybe the installation could be simpler... I also bought these for my 96 lx450, but only for the front seats and only in the factory color. I really wanted blue for the GX because of my plan to lift and wrap it so this company worked well for my needs. Here are some pics and I will take more if anyone is interested.

I am waiting for a response from Escape Gear in South Africa regardig some covers for the US Spec trucks with the armrest. They emailed me back (not a canned response either) and are looking into it.

I also emailed back and forth with them a few times around the new year but nothing ever came of it. At least they know there’s some interest from GX470 owners in the US!

They included the inner armrest(s) for both my gx and my lx but only included the door armrests for the lx. When i asked about the door armrests for the gx they said that they did not have a pattern but that if i sent them the leather from the old ones they would make new ones for me.
I'm satisfied with the product and the service because the price is a small fraction of what they should cost. The pattern is complicated and they seem to be attempting a level of quality that is higher than anything I've seen in the under $15k range.
I intended to do extra work for the color change and they offer the leather for this purpose. My door panel inserts and whatnot will be silver and blue like my seats eventually.
If you aren't doing a color change you can just order the two front seats; that's what I did on my la. I'll post pics of the color match on my la when it's done.

Hopefully the do get back to me, now that their prices are in-line with Wet Okle I would rather go with Escape Gear if possible. I was surprised to see that they don't offer a LC 120 cover given the global market of the vehicle, I would think that it would be easy enough to pattern.

Well I was pretty excited and ready to drop the coin on those Escape Gear seat covers, sadly they got back to me with bad news:

Thank you for your enquiry, unfortunately we are unable to match your
vehicle description and pictures to any of our patterns available and are
not able to assist at this time.

Kind regards

Looks like Escape Gear and @Equipt1 have released GX470 canvas seat covers. Who’s going to be the first to try them out? The 200 and 100 people like them.

Curious to see reviews. From the pics, they don't look like they fit very snugly.

I’ve seen them fit well and some a little loose.

Here’s a picture of my sheepskin covers I sourced locally if anyone is interested.

I think those look good...are you still happy with them?
How are they wearing? Looks like a good “install”.
Can I ask the $?, and where you sourced them?
Thanks

I was all ready to pull the trigger on some Wet Okole covers after reading good things for years, but at $360 for the fronts only they are expensive. So I started digging around a bit and found the following. Would love to hear if anyone has experience (good or bad) with any of them:

Coverking Neosupreme Neoprene from Autoanything or Amazon.
Coverking Polycotton from Amazon.
CalTrend NeoSupreme Neoprene from Autoanything.
Canvas, Tweed, or Neoprene from SeatCoversUnlimited.

I'm not against the Wet Okoles, but these all run in the $200 range and also claim to be custom fitted per vehicle. I certainly wouldn't mind saving $160 (which will pay for my recovery points 🙄 ).

Thanks. I like them a lot. I’m in Tucson so it’s hot as hell here in the summer. They are pretty darn cool even when getting in after parked in the sun for a few hours (no more sweaty back) and I know they’ll be great in cold weather too. They are wearing well and I can get them dry cleaned if I ever need to but they’re very stain resistant so far as well. As for price, they are merino wool from New Zealand so they weren’t cheap. $600.00. Yikes. Had a little bit of a “s***, I coulda got these cheaper elsewhere” feeling for a bit after a bought them but it doesn’t bother me anymore. I really think they’re the best. Tucson Upholstery had them in stock and ready to go. I went in there to look and left 30 minutes later with them installed. I can always transfer them to a different vehicle if I need to too. If you’ve the cash go for it.

I ended up ordering CalTrend. I think they ship out this week, I'll report my findings back to the group once I install them. Their facility is also in California so they're near me.
