Whoa, that's what I was leaning towards. The LED bezel looks waaay out of place there, maybe flat black would be better? Is he willing to post what mods were needed to fit the LEDs?

I'm also cramming a bunch of those LED minipods into the turn signals....but unsure about what to do with the side markers. (In Japan the amber reflectors are not necessary so likely fitting some sort of LED there)

You will need to fab up an adapter plate to bolt into the retrofit bracket that'll allow you to center and space the LED Hi-Lens forward.

Any tips/pointers on install for those that have done it already? What size bolts and length did you use for everything?

Also, my headlights don't fit in my oven (can't fully close door)... Can I try baking them with door open or should I just go to a heat gun?

you can use a heat gun. you can try the oven, but 1. don't let it touch or it will melt... and 2 you probably won't keep enough heat in with the door open.

Ask a friend to borrow their oven. I did mine when I was back home in LA, then brought them back to Tokyo in pieces. (Japanese ovens be mighty mighty small!!!) Heatgun might end up melting the headlight if you're not careful.

Hey TJ, message me or email me.

Damn @ambiguous doesn't f around... ordered my s*** Wed, and it's arriving today! and at a sweet price!

if you're looking at a retrofit, definitely reach out to him before you buy. not only can he get you a damn good deal, but he's very knowledgeable about the process.

Finally got around to finishing up my quad retrofit. G5-R and G5-EXL with Morimoto XB35 5500k and XD ballasts. Need to work on the aim still but pretty happy with the setup!

And @ambiguous /Burt was great to deal with. Helped me out a lot with questions since this was my first retrofit.

Does anyone know if you could mount a RX350 non afs projcetor with these brackets?

You might be able to make it work but you'll definitely be doing some trimming to the bracket to open up the hole and then adding support to mount the projector.
This will give you an idea of the difference in size. RX350 projectors are bigger but not necessarily better.

G5R, G5BRT, G5EX, G5EXL projectors are all brighter. Basically a bolt-on affair with a little grinding to fit the larger projectors. Some food for thought.

DO you still have the brackets forsale?

@teejnut , @ambiguous etc...finally getting around to doing these, any tips, tricks, insights that you can provide?

Questions I have for my first retro as well.
- Best way to open the headlights is heatgun?
- Do I need to get additional bolts/nuts to mount?
- How are you doing final aiming? Are you installing the headlights naked (no clear cover) and no bumper and then finding a parking lot and a wall to dial in?
- what else am I missing?

This was my first retrofit. So here are just my thoughts.

-I used a heat gun because the headlights wouldn't fit in my oven. It should be easier with oven. One thing I had to redo was when closing them make sure to close the corners all the way, the corner towards the body where the plastic lens slides into the headlight housing. If it's not in all the way you'll have a gap between the headlight and body (plus potential for leaking). I'm assuming you got Morimoto RetroRubber to help seal them back up?
-I got M4 bolts, washers, nuts from Amazon. Way cheaper then my local HD. Links below.
-Once you open the headlights you'll need to remove the stock projectors. Need to unscrew the adjustment mounts and then pop-out the projectors from the ball joint. I used a long flat head screwdriver to pop it out of the ball joint.
-For initial aiming of the projectors i just mounted the projectors to the brackets and did the aiming inside my house. You'll want a wall that's about 25' away and you'll want to aim the two projectors with each other. I aimed the two projectors on each bracket to be level at 25' feet. After aiming each set of projectors on the bracket I mounted the brackets to the headlights. I then checked the alignment again before putting the lens back on. Once on the car you do the final aiming. I used a computer power supply to power my ballasts when I was aligning/aiming the projectors inside my house. The aiming/alignment on the bracket took the most time but is probably the most crucial step.
