Wow, can't wait for mine to be on my 1HD-FT!

Gday all, very interested in this modded turbo, how can i get my grubby hands on one?

So mudbludger, it's November.

Have you got a GTurbo yet? Any feedback for the group?

Tim

Owner is modifying inlet manifold (boxing it out). I will provide photos to this, all instincts tell me it will lean off the AFR's further by evening the distribution of air between the cylinders.

After this, and the fittment of a Holley red in line fuel pump (as a kind of lift pump), it will be returned and afrs will drop to 17.5:1 for a power tune. On this basis, I would expect over 165kW, probbaly 170kW.

Owner is on holiday for a month or so (using this truck the whole time, so believe it or not folks, this is actually the "safe" tune) then will do the mods mentioned and a retune. Thats an excellent pyro pre turbo when sitting on 200whp!
Hi, have this mods been done as yet? If so, what was the outcome? Particularly the lift pump - interested to know any benefit from this.

Cheers Jim

Hi y'all!

Yesterday we did a 1992/11 auto HDJ81 on 35" A/T tyres. 153kW (205hp) at wheels and below 3500rpm never under 22:1 AFRs!! Boost 25-26psi. These are 77kW (103hp) standard. The AFRs are logged on the dyno so I'll probably post it in a separate thread.

Why is this a great result?

Because it's perfect power for 90% of people, super lean, power out to 4000rpm and the mods are only as follows;

- Gturbo Bad Boy (new spec)
- HPD tiny top mount intercooler with fan
- 3" exhaust

Nothing else!!!

Also, I've been ragging the results of these top mounts for ages, but I ran this car up 20 times and the intercooler was only lightly warm - under 50c easily.

In addition these airboxes while not awesome have no problem at this power level. Not that changing them won't yield better results, just that for those happy with that level f increase don't need to fork out the $ on modding everything under the sun.

it was around 25c here in Perth on that Friday, thankfully we are over our summer. If you were in a hotter climate cant you add more air, or less fuel to achieve the same A/F ratio? I think the spal fan on the top mount is the key, they constantly move so much air thru the cooler.
