Ah, didn't know that. I thought it connected to the top of the intake where the other cables from the pedal and cruise control connect to.

Primarily to increase rpms when winching.

They're also extremely useful for keeping a steady throttle on when on bumpy roads / non roads (esp with loaded trailer) where your foot keeps stabbing at the pedal with bumps and making the jerking worse.

You have other issues if this is the case on a modern EFI engine.
