Me, now, me.
What Steve is saying is that you need to call him and give him your credit card number and shipping address. :)

As the first post indicates, you'll get charged the $150 price on June 20th when the group buy closes. A month and some after that, when MAF ships your windows to you, they'll charge your card for the exact shipping cost.

Incidentally, I've extracted the glass-related pages from the 1984 Chassis & Body factory service manual. It shows exactly how to remove and replace all the windows in a 60/62 and a 70-series.

The PDF is in the tech section now, which should help keep my bandwidth down... :D

I thought my version summed it up a little better! :D
But yes, you should contact me if you are interested in purchasing, you have until June 20th to do this, no later. I will be billing for the windows on the 20th. And billing for shipping when they arrive here and are shipped out to you.

Please also note that these windows are used, and will be in used condition. SOLD AS IS. I will do my best to get the best looking windows shipped out, but please expect to do some cleaning and possibly sticker removal.

Thanks again everybody! Steve

cleaning and STICKER removal?!?!?!?!,, well I just dont believe this,, and DO not have the time,,, :D

ok,,,,, so I really dont care,,,as long as they are quality on the hard parts, it is a really good price,, so who cares if you have to do a little work

Based on the link it seems we are putting chewing gum in to hold the windows in??

some ppl say not opening my mouth ever again would be a GOOD thing,,,, GF says different :D

cannot wait to see installed pics

Sorry I haven't paid attention to this thread- Alex PM'd me so I'll respond here-

I lucked out and got a relatively clean set (after I was sent 2 of the same side.. but that actually worked out well for me because i got to choose the best one!).

I have a lot of work to do on them even though they're in great shape- gotta clean out all the tracks, sand down and repaint the frames after removing a little bit of surface rust (very little). and generally get everything smoothly operating. Then off to the tint shop and then to my glass guy. He said the install is very easy to do, and it is, as advertised on many a thread, a glue-in procedure. He's done it before for other applications and says it works great.

I forget what he said the glue was, but it's not that sticky black crap you usually see on these and things like door panels (butyl?). There's a better glue that has been used more effectively in recent years.

I'll give him a call when he's at work and find out- i don't pay attention to glues and chemical names so bear with.. he works a lot with hot rods, muscle cars, and RVs so I trust him pretty well with being flexible and doing things the best way. (he has a 60 series too, hehe)

I'll also snap some before and after shots, but don't expect anything soon. I'm embroiled in other things for a while.

I honestly have no idea why Steve is being so generous and putting his time and energy into this. Having been involved in overseas group orders in the past, all i can say is BE VERY PATIENT AND GENEROUS to the organizers. They have to work there asses off, and as you guys can see this isn't a big-ticket item so Steve and MAF aren't gaining much out of it- other than potential customers and good word of mouth.

Having waited since last November for my pair (got the 2nd window in May), I'm not sure where this bunch is going to be found?? ok then i'll shutup

Also, tell Steve that he won't be ostracized if he signs up and goes to a TLCA event. He's got a complex about people id'ing and beating him up at Rubithon or McGrew. (trying to get him to McGrew)

PS- if any of you nerds are near Salem, OR, you're welcome to come by and check them out yourself.

Come on Steve-o. Jump in on the Mcgrew run. We'll play nice. :flipoff2:

I dont know, I might get the fear. I want you to understand that this man at the wheel is my attorney. He's not just some dingbat I found on the strip, man. He's a foreigner. I think he's probably Samoan. But that doesn't matter, though, does it?

When and where is Mcgrew again? My cruiser is in AZ at 4+ right now.

Thanks for that great write up Ken, your right about a lot of that stuff. I really dont mind doing it, but we not making much money no. I like doing it to promote business. Now that I'm the sales manager, I like to see our company doing good and customers happy with our service.

Thanks, Steve.

I live in Keizer and would love to take a look at the windows. I've been buying a lot of stuff for my rig lately and don't know how the wife would feel about this but for the price and don't think I can pass it up. Will know closer to the date, but for now count me in.

If installing these sliding windows is the same as the side windows on the lid of a 4Runner, it's a cinch. It isn't called butyl tape anymore - I can't remember what it is but all auto shops have them. I believe it is an Intertape product, or maybe even 3M. I'll ping back with product number when I get back home. The window is simply stuck on the body with this tape. At first thought it doesn't seem that secure, but when the tape sets it has mighty gripping force...
