does CLIMATE button go to OEM climate screen yet? that was the one annoying thing

Mine has done this since the day I installed it about a year ago and then hit AUDIO button and it goes back to Grom. No issues with this for me

2010 LC

hmmmmm.

what mine does now (with the Android 12 update and a backdated firmware)

blue/red temp button causes a the temperature to pop up on the screen
(one iteration of the firmware made the the screen flash to OEM home screen and flash back to GROM...this seemed useless and very jarring. That is why I backdated the firmware and that got rid of that function)

CLIMATE button is a dead button right now. Pushing it does nothing

You can see in the video below at the 1:04 time stamp they hit HOME then hit CLIMATE to get to the climate screen
when you are in the GROM display you can hit CLIMATE and it goes straight to climate screen?

Yes, then I click AUDIO to go back to GROM mode

What year and variant is yours? LC or LX?

mine is 17LC200

Old GROM unit...upgraded to A12
I have probably submitted the most feedback for the LC GROM....
They've been great at listening to feedback

maybe I'll try the full latest upgrade
I will say after the A12 upgrade I will say the streaming apps works much smoother

FWIW I have had the vLite in both my 09 and 16 LC. Same physical unit with updated harness and firmware purchased from GROM when I moved it to the 16. The same device functions differently between the Gen 5 Nav in the 09 and the Gen 7 Nav in the 16. In the 09/Gen 5, vLite functioned as a CD Changer Emulator adding it as an additional source (the factory has a DVD changer and they headunit knows the difference). On the 16/Gen 7, vLite functions as and takes the place of the AUX input. On the 09 IIRC the climate would swich back and forth, on the 16 it does not. Not sure why. Also going from memory, but I believe the voice button on the 09 brought up Siri in Carplay, on the 16 it is still tied to the OEM Voice function. In addition, the full VLine may function differently than vLite, so those sublte differences can make a difference when comparing years and devices.

Has anyone loaded Android apps? I’m wondering what the switchover will be like. I’d like to run OBD Fusion in Android mode since the CarPlay version sucks, but easily flip over to Google Maps and Spotify and back as needed.

I run OBD fusion directly from GROM window I don't do the carplay version
you could also run maps and spotify from the GROM as well
you essentially don't need carplay unless you really want to run apple specifc stuff
