The order on camping along trail 1 & 5 hasn't been signed just yet ( we were told in December that it was, but they were mistaken). It should be out in another week or two. The campsites on the Tennessee side have gone to being pay areas. Stateline and the next one down are $20 per night and most of the rest along the river are $10.:censor:

The order to close trails Lower 2,7,9&10 from Jan. 1 through Mar. 31 and to ban camping on trail 1& 5. was signed and is being implemented.

Hey now...give a broke dude a chance...150 dollars of rolled pennies are in the mail:D ;)

I have a quick question for you- how hard core is Tellico? I have a FJ80 that's stock except for an Aussie locker (no sliders). I've read some reports on the internet that indicate that Tellico is the exclusive domain of modified, locked, short wheel base vehicles.

What is your opinion? I don't mind a few dings, but I'd prefer to avoid serious body damage, particularly in the rocker panel area.

Youll be fine, tellico wraps all over from hard trails to easy...a lot of the time youll be able to drive up to the hardcore sections and watch all the action...there is trails to be had there by all.

Plus with some good spotting youll get that rig further in rocks than you ever thought was possible.

Personally (having an 80) I would try to get sliders on just for peace of mind. Lowtide is right for the most part, but I wheel up there all the time and if you just want to spectate you will be fine...if you want to go somewhere you will be stressed.

I ran lots of Tellico in 2006 with no sliders on my 80-series....they would have been nice, but some creativity got me thru unscathed....

I'll be running it again this year in an FJC WITH factory sliders ;)

IIRC, I was supposed to deliver Mark's "test" sliders to tellico for you to bolt up, but the shipping was murder...x-country 2nd day air = $$$ to get them there...I did get a couple of MUD coozies for the offer :flipoff2:

I would recommend you invest in sliders. Woody did all right without them but remember he is very experienced, you may not be quite as creative as him.

Roger,

Are you up for another day of wheeling with the Virginia/Maryland boys this year?

Sounds like a plan to me!

Sounds even better! We're looking forward to our 9th GSMTR.

I'll check and PM you with a list. Thanks
