Today was a wash, literally. It rained most of the day. We made a run to the farm with a load and when we got home I sanded spakle spots so Erin could touch up paint them. Then I spent several hours "cleaning" and packing up stuff in the garage. It looks like a bomb went off, but I feel like it is going to get worse before it gets better. There's 10 years worth of stuff in there.

I found some 10 year old empty Toyota parts baggies that I have kept around for some reason. I have decided that I have a bit of a problem with hoarding, mostly parts but with a smattering of misc. hardware and old paperwork...

Put my deposit down on a Cruisin' Offroad front bumper this morning. Jason said it'd be about 6-8 weeks on the bumper, which works great for me. Hopefully things will have calmed down a little by then so I can get it painted and mounted.

Been emailing with Rodney at Wholesale Automatic Transmissions in AU about the trans issues. He reinforced what I am suspecting and that is that the issue is in the valve body. He said it sounds like some of the valves are sticking and once they heat up there is some differential heat expansion that is allowing things to move more freely which is why at temperature everything seems to work right.

So, I am going to do a filter change, look things over and then see how that does. If that doesn't do me any good, I will get a quote on rebuilding it and then go from there.

Have you ever felt you need to clone yourself? That way you could have cruiser jinx that spends 8 hours day working on trucks, daddy jinx that spends all day with kiddo & hubby jinx that tends to wifey? Lol
How the hell do you do it man? I'm getting a headache watching you take on another project.

I appreciate it, but actually, if I had my druthers, I'd want about 8 more hours in every day. Always more to do than I got time for and I feel like a lazy bum lots of days. You can ask Erin, if I sit for to long I start getting antsy, pacing around the living room until she sends me out to the garage.

I'm not sure what will be going down this weekend. Most likely packing the garage and getting started hauling junk down to the new apartment. The weather will dictate alot of the plans.

For the Deuce, I need to get a hold of Kyle or Sam and get a load of parts headed my way, particularly the trans filter and pan gasket. Feel like a lot of the other stuff I want to do is probably going to have to wait til we get out of the house and I get set up out at the farm. That will hopefully motivate me to get the electric squared away sooner than later and get the grading and lean-to done.

One Week down on the wait for the new bumper...

Going to take the rig down to the Trans shop the first of next week to have them take a look and see what they think it needs to be road worthy. We close on the sale of our house in just over 2 weeks, so I'm guessing not alot is going to be happening on any front in the next few weeks other than cleaning and packing and moving.

I have not. Need to do that today, if I can find his number.

Bumper should be here in a couple weeks. Looking forward to getting it in, painted and installed. Looking forward to getting the old girl on the road. Tried to start it today, but sitting for a couple weeks in this heat has killed the battery. Will take the cables and try again tomorrow or Tuesday.

On a bit of a side bar, I picked up these beauties from a fella down in Manchester this morning.

Full set off a 95, complete. I will be stripping them down and these will be the base for my half doors for the Bruce build. The guy I got them from is a self-proclaimed lurker. He doesn't post much and I didn't get his screen name but he had a clean 93 in the driveway and the 95 these doors came off of was sitting in his shop with the top cut off from the windshield back. He is planning a cage and to just tool it around. Wish I had creeped a picture of both.

Cruisin' Off-Road bumper came in today.

Guess I need to pick up a few rattle cans this week so I can get it mounted. For now it will reside on the front of the deuce but since I got it in the 8274 flavor (thanks @Land Speeder for the nudge) it will eventually swap spots with the ARB on Bruce.

Bumper was crudely unwrapped tonight because I needed to see what was hiding under the packaging. Pure BEEF!!

@tkinze thanks, yeah, kinda stashing parts right now. The barn is kinda full of furniture, play sets and other misc. stuff so not a lot of room to wrench these days. If we can get the lean-to up and the trim on, that will clear out some space to tinker over the winter. Once the house is done and I can get all the non-garage stuff out, then I will have to hit beast mode to get Bruce ready for GSMTR.

If anybody runs across a used 8274, I'm in the market. :D

I see 'em pop up on hardline every month or two, going rate is +/- $450 for a functional 8274. There's a 8274-50 listed on there now but it must be dipped in gold cuz the guy wants $1400 which is crazy.

At that price I may as well just pop for a new one. Part of me wants to find one that works, but needs a rebuild, you know cause I need another project in the que....

Got a deal worked out for a trans for the Duece, just have to get with my buddy @Land Speeder in a couple weeks and drag "our" latest investment up to "80" Acres for the transplant.

Think it will be done by GSMTR?

I'm hoping to. That is kinda my target. Not sure what all will be, but hoping at least the lift, PT kit and t-case swap will be done for that trip

I smell a tow rig in your future?

Yeah, we need one, but the one I want is just out of my range at the moment. Gonna want a 4 door, diesel, 4wd something. 7.3 Superduty is probably top of the list as far as what I can afford, with a cummins coming in at a close second. Don't want a payment and don't want another project, so probably gonna be another year or so until the budget is right for shopping. 1 ton is probably going to be a requirement as well since I will probably end up with a deck-over for pulling farm stuff or 2 rigs around on. I did see a big ass international rig on CL the other day that I might need to look at more closely. I think it was only 5k, but I'm kinda scared of the big stuff.

Maybe @DSLTOY or @4xsteve can give me a few pointers.

Meh. Hopefully Roger will chime in with his better knowledge of Internationals, but here is my two cents:

- Love the utility bed, but would have to remove it to haul any really heavy trailers because they're usually going to be GN or 5th wheel.
- If doing the above, the single wheel might not be enough to haul what you want safely (although it does appear to be a very HD tire).
- Without 4wd, you may have issues getting it stuck out on the farm - especially if you take that bed off and then have no weight on the back.
- Would prefer you not start off with leaks. Mine has plenty, but I've watched them come about so I know whether they're serious or not.
- Allison trans is awesome, but I think VERY expensive if it has issues or, God forbid, needed replacement.

- For the price, it'll be hard to find anything else with a similar towing capacity though.
- Size and turning radius are probably as good or better than most long duallys.
- Tires last forever when you under
