Took a little road trip to Comox... Came home with a Diesel.

Kinda a bit like an 8' tall, 9500 lb Fj40 with 500 ft lbs of torque.

Mobile Office / promotional vehicle / camper / truck / etc.

Going to clean it up a bit and have some graphics put on it. Also Install some captains chairs in the back and some form of "desk"... Eventually some form of bench that converts to a bed.

Know anyone with ambulance seats or parts?

We'll have to connect up some time... Tons of neat electrical stuff in the electrical "room". 7.3 TD, full aluminum cage/box, insulated, 12v & 110 power.

2 starting batteries... 2 deep cycle. 'Sure Start' toggle to connect all 4.

Took it over the scales... Only 8500lbs empty.

Got a steep learning curve ahead: had a "water in fuel" light come on, pulled the "Water fuel drain" to drain the bowl of water, need to learn all the ins and outs of a FORD diesel...

Anyone know these trucks?

Axle code indicates, Dana 60, 4.10, LSD, Duals.

Truck is 12/96... Engine appears to be original. 324,000+ km, runs like a top, makes this 8500 lb truck feel light... Even over the hat.

Seems strange it would have a Dana 60, I thought it would be a sterling rear end by then. Even the 70's 1 tons had Dana 70's

That's what the axle code came up as... But the site could be wrong.

Cant really say, the last Ford I drove was the F150 we had on the farm 22 years ago. The rear axle looks plenty big, it's got duals, and better or worse... ABS.

I'd post a pic, but I'm at VGH for the night.

Not likely... Doubt it'll even become a 4WD. LSD is about all it'll have. I'd hate to loose the turning circle. It'll never be able to keep up with a 40 in the bush. Too damn big. 8'3" stock, 8500 lbs empty.

Anyone know of any fab shops in town the could mold me annother 6" fender flair? From Crestline they're $150 + shipping.

Also need a couple lenses for lights. In Canada they're $56 a lens vs $40 for the complete light online.

See what Princess Auto has for flares, they sell fenders of all kinds for trailers that might work with a bit of modification.
