Yeah, my 2 little plastic sawhorses leaves something to be desired haha.

And here I thought I was the only one using plastic saw horses and whatever is laying around atop... :D

Nice work space J!

Nope, I use the plastic ones all the time.. Work great for body panel work.. Thanks D, I sometimes feel claustrophobic in my shop, then I stop and tell myself I am fortunate that I'm not in a single or double garage like most guys.... YIKES....:slap:

I'm gonna have a two car garage soon. Don't doubt it! I may try my hand at some body work for fun on my old fender :)

Making progress!! That table rocks.

Thanks J, I'm wanting to add a couple of receiver hitches on it for 3rd member work and an extra chain vise.

Body work is fun and frustrating at the same time when you first start out. Take your time, listen to some Marley and have a few beers. It is quite satisfying once you get the hang of it.

P, with your new 211 you can build you a little table as a project. However, I still have 2 or 3 sets of plastic saw horses.. I use them all the time. ;)

I've been thinking of so many fun things we can make now that we've finally got this thing. It's so fun haha!

Plastic saw horses are the cat's ass, use 'em all the time. Gonna borrow your grate idea at the end of the table, it would make plate work easier.

P, Before you know it you will be seeing metal this and that and everything in your dreams.. HA! Its contagious..

Knock yourself out J. I thought it would be nice to have a cut table similar to a plasma table. Well on the low-budget side of things until I can afford a real table.. However, I don't know if I will ever put my pantograph away for good. Its to easy and fast for small part replication.

Fun thread, I just read most of it.

Very nice shop. Maybe I missed it, but is that at home, or separate? Very jealous if at home.

No tech to add and I hope to see you on a future adventure.

Re: Kistler Chardonnay - Do you really still have some of the 2000? How is it holding up? I'm not a huge chardonnay fan, but I have enjoyed this one. It's just become so pricey I have it maybe once per year.

I have a loose family connection. My mother's family name is Kistler, and my great, great, etc grandfather was John Kistler who immigrated from Germany to homestead in east/central Pennsylvania in 1690. His two farms are still in the family, but sadly it's been 10 years since I was there. My mom believes, Kistler Vinyards was started by an offshoot of the family tree that left Pennsylvania in the 1850s. I'm skeptical but it could be true.

LOL.... i just want a garage that is big enough to fit more than one car in with all our crap.. Welding table would be nice (along with a table saw) but that aint gonna happen.

Andy, glad to see you stop by... Yes, this is at my house. I'm a spoiled brat when it comes to a shop at the house.

Cool story on Kistler. Yes, I had couple of older bottles, 1-2000 and 1-2002. I think I have a 2008 and 2010 in the cabinet now. I was broke out on chardonnay with a 1998 Kistler at a lobster house in Key West and been hooked ever since. If you want to try a good "CLONE" Kistler.. Wente Chardonnay has one that is damn near a mirroe image IMO.. Give it ago if you run across a botlle, priced right at around $20-30 a bottle.

Hopefully I can catch up on a trail run one day with you, Dan and the fellas. Work hasn't played too well with me in the past two years for meeting up.

I feel like a complete BOOB! I thought I had a bunch of 1/2" plate to make my frame mounts out of... BUT NOOOO! its 3/8". So pissed for not looking closer at the pile of metal over the past couple of weeks. Even though 3/8" is plenty strong, I want the 1/2". So, I'll order some 1/2 strap next week and get back to the frame mounts at that point.

I got the shell measured out, cut and the wings bent back and tacked for today. I will get the wings finished tomorrow and get the spindles mounted.

It'll look more like the finished product by lunch tomorrow.

Are you going to cut the cross member out like 4x4Labs or leave it and work around it? Following with interest.

Andy, I will cut the cross member out and incorporate a receiver. I will keep it as far back as I can to allow for the extra room I need for the 54 gallon diesel tank.

This cross member is not OEM, its been cut out before and a piece of 3 1/2" square tubing was welding in....

You'll get there Greg, I remember working out of a single car garage and it made me keep things very organized and clean. I can't leave the shop without sweeping and picking up things before going in. The :princess: knows when I say I'm done that there is still 15-30 minutes before she sees me again..
