I'm considering converting my lj78 to manual as the transmission problems persist. Ive been offered a gearbox, flywheel, clutch and pedal assembly out of whats believed to be either a 70 series or a hilux of some generation. Here's some pics of the gearbox, ive seen various pics of landcruiser interiors and none seem to have this gearstick layout. Can anyone ID it? Thanks

That’s a mini-truck 4-speed. Not what you want

Do you know what model it is? My first thought was W56 or G52, but neither have the shift rail housing on top of the transmission, and the partial bellhousing integrated into the case is different, too.

When you say mini truck what exactly are you referring too?

Probably a Hilux. Will definitely not suit your Prado; as you can notice from the photo the rear flange is at centre and not inline with the front, which is how the Prado is.

Transfer case is 100% wrong for land cruiser (except 1961-1963 40 series)
Center real axle output.
