I'm sorry I have to pull out of this deal. I have a new dental nightmare to deal with...Orthodontic$.

Is this still open? If I recall It was $100 buy in with the balance due at a later date, correct? Any idea what that time-line looks like?

@jynx Yup, still open. So the $100 still isn't due for a bit. SCS should have the sample wheel in a few weeks time and they'll be able to give the green light from there and more then likely will need the deposits at that time. From there it should be 2-3 months to get the wheels.

Thanks. Also, please forgive my asking what is going to sound like a dumb question I'm sure, but these wheels are going to be 17x9 with a 3.8" BS (9"/2 = 4.5" -30mm ~ 3.8"), is that correct? (If I missed it somewhere in the thread I apologize) The current 17x8.5 are 4.3" if I am looking at the website correctly, so gaining another half inch outward, correct? I have been beating my head against a wall trying to figure out the spacing on these wheels as to me a 4.3" BS on an 8.5" wheel should be a positive offset from all the reading I have done (4.3" is .05" outboard of a 4.25" CL) so I am lost as an easter egg in June on this whole BS vs offset stuff.

So what is the effective BS on the proposed wheels going to be? And if I am reading the above correctly, the $100 deposit will be due when the sample wheel is approved and then at that point the balance will be due once the production wheels are ready to roll out somewhere in the October/November time-frame, that sound right?

If that is all mostly correct, I am a strong maybe for a set in gunmetal. I will have to see what the finances look like closer to time, but can start saving now for them I reckon.

Thanks again for pulling this together.

@jynx your calculations are correct. However I've forgotten to update the thread as now the wheel is going to have a -38 offset or 3.5 backspace as SCS figured that would best suit 40/60/70/80 series and solid axle mini's. Backspacing is often a confusing measurement and honestly I don't think it's used much outside of the USA. I'm used to measuring offset only since I can easily figure out where the outside of the wheel is going to be with offset.

Yes to your timeline as well. Sometime in the fall/early winter I would think.

And no worries! I just want a simple yet well fitting japanese influenced wheel for my truck and I think a lot of people will enjoy these wheels once they go into production.

Is anyone else in Oz interested in these?

What was the freight quote like?

Hello Guys,

Here is a little update on everything. The mold is currently in the works so as soon as our manufacture finishes that up and gets a sample wheel done, we'll share it with everyone here.

The final wheel sizing will be 17x9 with a -38mm offset which translate to 3.50" bs. This will be aggressive and the dish extremely deep compared to the rest of our wheel lineup. The wheel is estimated to weight around ~23-24lbs, but we'll get the final number once the sample arrives. Retail pricing on the wheels will be $195 each.

I will provide more info as they come along, but for the mean time, here is a render of the new size.

I'm so excited! I cannot wait for these. Just let me know when I need to send my $100 deposit! I am totally in for 5 wheels! Do you guys have any pics of the white, and bronze?

Waiting for bright silver.

17x9, 3.5bs, -38mm offset. Factory is near zero offset, right? So +1.5 inches over stock wheels.

Hey Guys... Great news!

Vin just sent me the sample wheel for a fitment check and so far so good! The wheel sits flush with the fender flares and fits the calipers with tons of room to spare. I'm going to test fit the wheel on @Wheelingnoob's truck tomorrow to see how the wheel fits against the larger fzj80 rear disks but it should be no problem. Stay posted!

For all those interested Vin will be taking deposits soon.
