Yes, but.... the placement of the struts is totally different. The kit above is way more expensive, but the struts are 100% out of the way. All of the DIY jobs I've seen the struts are in the way, almost in the same exact spot as the assist springs.dude you can diy this whole thing for like $20. just use some rivnuts in your hood and use one of the bolt holes for the hinge spring. the gas struts are CHEAP on amazon

Both good options, but the two deserve some explanation since the final product is different.
On the other side that strut is perfectly in the way of adjusting the idle speed screw on the carb, just like the assist spring ... for those of us still running a 2F that is haha. The more expensive kit setup doesn't have that issue since the bottom of the strut is located on the firewall. It's definitely a MUCH cheaper route though.
