Gas Gauge Stopped Working Today

As the title says, the gas gauge quit working today. All other gauges are fine. Its dark and about 25 degrees, so i'm not trouble shooting tonite. I thought i would ask if anyone has any input ? Thanks, Mike

Wiring to it burnt up, not grounded well, float stuck and its not actually the gauge. Just a couple thoughts.

wire is pinched somewhere, happened to me. Caused it to short and once I replaced the section of wire, it worked fine. I think it is self grounding at the tank so you should check as Clemson mentions....

For my dead gauge, I cleaned the connector right at the tank underneath the little cover in the bed. That did the trick for me.

It ended up being a loose connection under the dash. IH8electrical.
