I am looking to purchase the little rubber bump stop in the gas door on my 55. The dealer here is useless so I am hoping someone has one or another dealer that will be able to source and send one my way.

Any help or a part number or a friend at a dealer that can find the little syuff would be great. I'd gladly pay in advance...

See if he'll order 90541-03078. That should be what you're after.

my local ACE hardware has a little rubber bumper thing that matches almost to the tee, have a look around your store for an option.

Yep, thats where I found mine - about $.45 if I remember correctly.

Perfect, if Ace doesn't have one I will try the part number from Charles.
Thanks to all.

Ace or True Value should carry them every store is a little different so you may need to make a stop at a store or two.

Found that my 7/75 gas door stop and my 7/70 gas door stop had different rubber bumper hole aperatures. The 7/70 was something like 3/16 to 1/4" and the 7/75 (my 77 fj40 as well) had a bumper stop hole of approx. 1/16"

Anyway They are called Rubber Bumpers and the ones they stock at Ace/True value are made by Servalite to match GM vehicles.

For the ca 7/75 rubber bumper RBA XK worked very well at 82 cents. (I say in releif as the clerk broke my orig Toyota one off while pawing it.)
For the ca 7/70 rubber bumper RBA xm worked very well at $1.02.

In passing interest : They had some bumpers that looked very suitable for the rear seat catches as well.

OEM 90541-03078 FUEL DOOR STOPPER $1.42

Probably get it for cheaper.

Marshall, what year is this for? I noticed that my 70 gas door stop receiver hole was bigger than the 75...since that time I have noticed that confirmed with several photos of gas doors.

72 on I believe

Early part number is 90541-06008 But I've never seen it in person.

Call and see if it's still available.
