nice rig!! Basically the same way I want to build mine. What is your opinion on the High performance engine?

Thanks!

I don't have any complaints about the engine. It fires right up and runs strong.

However, my experience with it is limited...I have only driven it about 350-400 miles so far. And I've never had another 2F, so I don't know how it compares.

sliders have arrived!

The White Knuckle Offroad sliders were delivered today.

Not sure when I'll have a chance to install them, but I couldn't wait to share the pics. :)

Will post more pics when they're installed, of course.

Rob, can you confirm your T100 steelies have no spacers? If no, that would be my first choice when new tire time arrives, so I can move to 16" tires and get out of the shrinking 15" pool.

It does have spacers. 1 inch, I think.

Ah, roger that. So they are FJC wheels. Good to know, I can live with a small spacer.

updates!

The truck spent a few weeks with the guys at ACC in Atlanta to get a thorough check-up as well as install some new goodies, such as:

- WKOR sliders (pics in later post)
- Tuffy console with Cobra CB (pics in later post)
- Hella horns
- Hella Micro DE fog lights (pics in later post)
- LED dome and backup lights from PFran

All of this work was in preparation for my first trip with the truck...a trail ride with Southeast Overland Adventures.

WKOR sliders

I ordered a set of bolt-on FJ60 sliders from White Knuckle Off Road. ACC did the installation, including some tack welds on the ends to keep the sliders from walking down the frame over time.

The sliders are awesome! They provide great protection, and the steps make getting in and out of the truck so much easier, especially for kids.

this pic was taken on this past weekend's ride:

this pic shows the damage to the right rear quarter panel which occurred on that ride:

here's a shot from underneath the driver's side slider:

Tuffy console with Cobra CB

The console that was in the truck when I got it just wasn't cutting it...especially the cupholders which were pretty much useless.

So I ordered the Tuffy console with the optional rear cupholders, 2 extra 12v outlets for the rear, and interior LED light. Also, we installed a CB antenna in the stock radio antenna location and used the CB/FM splitter.

Hella Micro DE fog lights

Even with the upgraded headlights I was still wanting some more light, so I picked up a set of Hella fogs.

The guys at ACC suggested mounting them into the MAF bumper, which I thought was a cool idea.

So are those FJ steelies or T100 steelies (or are they the same thing? What size tires are you running with them?

As far as I know, they are T100. They were on the truck when I bought it. I don't know how (or if) they differ from FJ steelies.

Tires are 255/85/16.

I'm glad my brother's FJ60 made it to a good home here on MUD. He was the 2nd owner and had it for about a year before he sold it...

For clarification, the wheels are 16x7 Toyota Tacoma/Tundra/T100 steel wheels. The FJ steel wheels are 17x7.

My brother had these wheels on this 2004 Taco before he picked up the FJ60, when he got the 60 he had to run 1.25 spacers as the front TRE's were rubbing and it gave the truck much better stability.

Funny, my brother, my son & I all ran the same tire/wheel combo on our trucks + spares just in case we had multiple flats out on the trail.

Just saw this rig in person at ACC today, it is SWEET!

I have the same color, albeit with a lot rougher paint job. Rob - hope you don't mind, I came in with ideas on how to build up my rig, and Peter at ACC told me he had a truck in the lot that was similar. I drooled over your 60 for almost a half hour today!

Glad you liked it! Thanks for the compliments!
