Hi guys, question for the brain smarts here! 1993 full time 4wd VX limited 80,
So the transfer case was working perfectly before I recently rebuilt the gearbox in terms of it selecting low/high range and drove off all four wheels no issues in said low/high range.
This may seem like an odd question but after reinstalling the gearbox and transfer after the rebuild and getting everything running again the truck drives fine and high range, (front wheels spin on loose traction surfaces) but as soon as low range is selected which i can confirm its actually going into low range as the gearing is much much shorter and the center difflock light is coming on, I only get drive to the rear wheels?
So question is how have I converted my truck to a 2WD in low in the process of pulling the transfer off and reinstalling it on the gearbox?
could it be a wiring issue as the truck was manual converted and there's a few empty plugs on the transfer (maybe ive plugged in the wrong thing?)
or could it also be an adjustment issue in the high to low range selector as whoever done the swap made up a custom selector that isn't very flash, not to mention it was quite tight to re-install, would the selector arm not going fully in to low cause this or would it just not drive in general?.
Many thanks team!
