I'm replacing all my rubber lines in my '67 and having my fuel tank cleaned and resurfaced. I've got these fittings on my old lines and need to know if they can be removed/reused? If so, how in the heck do I get the old lines out?

I might be wrong but it looks like it's a compression fitting. If I remember there's a smaller piece (ferrule) that sits on the hose and after you slide that threaded collar around the hose. If that's the piece then a hardware store has them.

So can I reuse these? They are in good shape if I can just get the old hose off but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that.

Ace Hardware carries compression fittings. I mean if youre changing all the hoses, what is $5? In any case I would at least get a new compression ring.

Is there a source for the olive colored fuel line?

Talked to Mark at Mark's Offroad about it and about buying a few things. He was not helpful to say the least. Kinda acted as if I was bothering him...

I do not believe that line was originally "olive". I think the chemicals and years did that. Mine were not even flexible and I am still looking for those parts.

If you ever seen Mark work He is taking notes while he's on the phone with you and has a carburator in his lap or under a cruiser
I bought a new NOS metal fuel line It was "Olive" color, Mark I think has NOS fuel lines but no ends, you will have to re-use just take and reuse the old ends not SAE but BSW or BSF noe EZ to find, I took the whole line to the hose shop they used the old ends on new hose never any leaks.

Geez Dusty you make me jealous everytime you post pics of your rig. I've still got the fittings so I guess I'll use hose clamps or those clamps like you have. Is it 5/16ths inside diameter?

I dont remember what size I used 3/16" or 1/4" ID You will have to remove the second nut and see what size the barb fits best you can use regular fuel line and hose clamps.

The Engine It don't look like that now :D I use :censor: of my rig 13,000 miles since the rebuild but I built it to drive It, so I over did when it came to replacing anything OEM,

It might take a little digging but I think the airplane resto guys use clear plastic line with compression fittings like that old Cruiser part. You might poke around the resto airplane sites to see if you can find those parts. You might also look in www.mcmaster-carr.com for the line at least. They carry all kinds of clear hose; some of it is fuel resistant.

Clear fuel line would be cool then you could see all the crap in your fuel line. thats why I keep the OEM glass filter.
