FST bows and top compatability

I have a 79 FJ40. The bows for it match my 79 doors and angle in at the top. The back has the cross bars that are made to fit soft ambulance doors. The bows seem like the right ones for my 40. However I think the top I have was made for the earlier doors and bows the go straight up. The top fits pretty well except across the main. It seems to have too much material here and is kinda baggy. Anyone have this combination. Will it shrink up? Does anyone make a top that fits the later style bows better? Should I just run it or try to sell it and get a later style top?

The canvas is made for earlier bows.. just as you thought

Do you have an upholstery shop or boat canvas shop near u?

Do you have one or two seams down the center?

Edit: to add a q: is that Julie’s top or an older Jim Reed top?

It's an OCDbeetle (Jim Reed?) Top that was from the time he was selling them on eBay. So some his later tops. It has 2 seams. I put a 1" tear in the top so I have already searched and there are a fair number of shops who do that work around me.
