you might need some new bump stops too

You are not wrong. Appreciate any advice on quality adfordable replacements
I recently purchased a full set of PerryParts bump stops. They might more than you need but their price isn't too bad (about $220 for a full set) and they'll be far more comfortable than the factory ones if you ever run into them.

If you are running stock suspension I assume you’re not hardcore off-roading. I am not a bump stop expert but I’m confused as to how any bump stops would be far more comfortable, you’re probably never hitting them until the bags crap out. I have a small Eibach lift and it came with rear bump stops. I bought some cheap energy suspension brand stops for the front, had them on for years, never had an issue. They are listed as rear but fit perfectly on a gx470 front. I got idea from here or maybe Facebook, works great. $37

That's fair.

Factory bump stops are hard rubber with no cushioning/damping ability when they make contact with the control arm/rear axle housing. "Specialized" bump stops can cushion impacts and have damping ability when they do make contact. So yes, they can be more "comfortable" than stock.

@Ignignot : just get replacement stock bump stops.

TLDR edit, KYB makes a high quality kit "SM5724" that has all this hardware i circled in red.

Looking to replace $hock$ and want to make sure i get all the right stuff together. Going to call lexus and give VIN to get spring #s tor my specific setup but does anyone have the part numbers for all this hardware?

I see many use/talk about the KYB SM5640 for a strut mount kit. Maybe for 4Runner, but compatible. Anyone use the SM5640?

They are different shapes and have different hardware. Maybe it can be used for a modified setup. But KYB is saying they dont fit a stock setup on amazon.

I ran Luftmeister's in the rear for 2 years and maybe 15k miles with no troubles. Felt exactly like OEM and you could feel the adjustment. Ended up selling them to a member after I went with Dobinsons lift.

I ordered on Amazon and received one Toyota stamped shock, and one without.

I used that kit but with Bilstein 6112.

Not “Koyo.”

Tokico are OEM line and service replacement part for these trucks….which is owned by Hitachi conglomerate.
I know my 80 Shocks are Made by Tokico but the GX may be Made by KYB and they have the Electric Dampeners.

My 05 GX is getting the Bilsteins and KYB Bearings Soon.

I got schooled today. The gx470 uses what lexus calls its (AVS) shocks. They are in fact magna ride, not 4 way adjust. Kinda neat.

Bumping this. The KYB kit and the lexus front shock did not come with the nut that clamps the whole thing together. In a effort to order the right part does anyone wknow what the part numbers are for deez nuts?

The link has all the diagrams, you need to actually look at it and learn how to use a basic Lexus parts site. They all have the same diagrams and it is easy once you get used to it.

Or you can keep asking here and whining when people nicely do (the incredibly simple) searching for you.

The Bilstein Shocks include the Nut.

If you want to Keep the electrical System then you would likely want to keep the Rears as well along with the Airbags.

I did away with it all in the name of Simplicity and Pulled the Fuse so No Light on Dash.

Loving the Bilsteins, Springs, and Air LIft Bags ($115 Amazon). Towing will not Cause Squat and Adjustable by Varying Air Pressure.

Rainy today but went out to see if i could get those 4mm allen hex screws that hold the actuators in place. Thought I was bringing a secret weapon, these ultra skinny allen wrenches.

Turns out they were actually TOO shallow and I couldnt get the bit to reach the bolt. Ended up using a dictionary definition "standard" 4mm allen wrench and it fit and worked like a charm with the perfect amount of clearance.

All 4 botls are un-stuck and turning easily. Excited to be replacing the front shocks in the next few days.

I did the same. Neither of my shocks were stamped Toyota and both failed within 6 months. Not happy with that purchase one bit.

I am ditching my rear luftmeister shocks they dont hold a candle to the OEM ride quality i am getting out of the front end. Belle lexus has the rears on sale for $612 today. Thats the lowest ive seen them. Pulling the trigger.
