I'm in the restoration of my FJ40 and have the front doors and hinges painted. When I pulled the truck apart, all the hinges had gaskets between each part, doors/body, except the front door hinge to the door.
My question is what did the factory do?

Looking through a lot of posts and can't seem to find a conclusion on this topic.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't recall any gaskets between the hinge face and the door face - they are just bolted against each other. I guess you could cut a thin plastic gasket and insert it, if you liked.

I'm just putting mine back together. There were no gaskets between mine and they have never been apart (I don't think)
