from B to 3B with Turbo Intercooler at last

how did you fit the intercooler there? did you backup the radiator? I couldn't find a way to fit one without moving the rad.

I made new radiator supports and moved the radiator 3" backwards and then adapted the fan cover to fit:cool: it looks even factory:grinpimp:

Could you post up a good pic of the hydroboost and master system you put on. I'm thinking of a hydroboost on my bj since I have a hydroboost from a gm truck.

Joe's BJ runs real good. That intercooler really makes a difference.
Pyro temps never get past 1100, And the engine runs nice and cool.
You don't feel any turbo lag, it just gets up and goes.


The hydroboost and master cylinder are from a 2000 mustang BTW.

the BJ raides nice .. plenty of powa soon ! the EGT are very low .. room to add more diesel and sure more boost.

We need to work on the suspension and comfy area .. but the engine it's a blast !
 
Where did you get your intercooler from? Very interested in this project. Nice work. How is the performance, got a guess on the HP numbers?

the intercooler is from a Mitsubishi EVO i don't know witch one,the performance is stunning and the engine even never gets hot in this tropical country:clap:.I have no HP figures but my guess is somewhere around 130HP because i used to have a 40 with a 1KZ in and this is about the same:steer: driving feeling

Next week i start to fiddle around with the fuel and boost and see how far i can push it:D

did you check the steering issue . ?

Yep i tightend everything up and the "deatwhobble" dissapeared:clap:

I still have to replace the steering damper because right now i use an old shock absorber that was lying around and this was not the best idea:hhmm:

When i change the axles i am going to refresh al the tie rods and overhaul the axles before i install them.This should result in a better overall handling

Yesterday was the first big test for the BJ,on saturday i mounted a new steering damper on it to get rid of the "death wobble" and it worked.We wenth trail riding but first i had to do some 75KM of "autopista":steer: before we hit the trail.I discovered that the return oil line of the turbo collapse when it gets hot so i have to replace this with a metal one to prevent the oil leking out of the turbo housing when driving @ 100km/hour:whoops:.The car handles realy fine now offroad and things that i used to do in First gear i can do know in second and sometimes maybe even Third gear:clap:.Another curiues thing is when i shut of the engine my rpm gauge just start following the rythm of the music:grinpimp:,i don't know why if someones know what is causing this please let me know.This wheek i am going to buy some 38" tyres for the car (maxxis creepy crawlers:hhmm:) and later i will start on the axles.

AWOEH no :censor:SO on my car you know better than that David:ban:.I will cut the body so the 38" wil fit:clap:.In the front they fit already in the rear i just cut the sheetmetal away:meh:
