Hi everyone,

I won an '84 60 series on a Dutch auction (Troostwijk) but the car itself was located in Romania. Weirdly enough a perfect match for me since I am both Dutch and Romanian Took a way to big trailer, slapped it behind my Subaru Legacy and towed in through some mountains. The Legacy is an European Spec b. so it has a 6 speed manual and a 6 cylinder 3 liter boxer engine. It's not rated to pull this heavy but it did way better than expected.

The land cruiser has fairly severe rust but so far it seems limited to wheel arches and sills. I will most likely make my own since I don't think I'll be able to find replacements here for anything other than a fortune. The floor seems to be in extremely good condition, not even surface rust and everything else besides a few spots on the body panels seem to be rust free (weirdly enough). The brakes are gone completely but the trunk is loaded with spare parts including the brakes and master cylinder. So far the only thing I need to buy to make it drive-able is the clutch. The air filter is al so gone but I'll makeshift something for the time being. The plan is to swap an Mercedes M113 in it after a while. You can find whole running cars with that engine for as little as 800 euro's in Germany and the V6 and I4 diesels share the same bellhousing pattern so they mount right up. It'll be a slow but steady project. The run runs and the next thing would probably be fixing the rust and then doing the brakes, clutch and the body rubbers. From there on I'll see what's next. I don't plan for it to be a showroom car but it does need to look decent and obviously be safe.

I found the original auction from USA; https://bid.cars/en/lot/1-51371435/1984-Toyota-Land-Cruiser-JT3FJ60G9E1126905 if anyone knows this car let me know all that you know about it. It seems the car has spend it's entire life in Rockford, IL and started it's life there as a rental.

I retrieved some more info on the car from the supplied documents and such. It seems the previous owner was a man from Rockford IL, last name Danner, I'll keep his full name private but maybe it rings a bell for someone. He put it up for auction and it was then bought by a Dutch company called "Bos V8 supercars". No clue how it got to Romania from there though. It was originally bought by Lis Rental Properties in Rockford or something similar to that, a bit hard to decipher the hand writing

Getting parts here is a bit more tedious than over in the States I believe but I can fabricate quite a bit myself. I've made bushings, lift kits etc. before using Fusion 360 and my 3d printer. They have been tried and testing quite heavily so I have faith in them. I was thinking of making the cab mounting rubbers/cushions myself. Not decided for sure yet on printing them in TPU or making a negative print and filling it with polyurethane in the sofest shore rating I can find. Currently trying to figure out sizes of everything, all the kits I've seen so far seem to have different types of rubbers, different amounts and sizes. Looking at Amayama there seem to be 4 different sizes/designs for the upper cushions and 5 for the lower ones but from another source I've gathered this;

1. Large bushing: 62mm OD x 16mm ID x 21mm H x 24mm frame bracket hole
2. Medium bushing: 55mm OD x 16mm ID x 21mm H x 24mm frame bracket hole
3. Small bushing: 45mm OD x 16mm ID x 19mm H x 24mm frame bracket hole
4. Lower bushing (all the same size): 42mm OD x 16mm ID x 23mm H
5. Steel sleeve: 16mm OD x 12.5mm ID x 42mm long

Does anyone happen to know the sizes needed? I couldn't find a definitive list. Or are they just mix and match over the years?
I will al so replace all the hardware but I can order that locally (up to 12.9 grade) so I'll just measure it all once it's out if I can't find the proper info on those. Printing and/or casting would take some time so I'd preferably do it beforehand (I'm located 2,5 hours away from where I can store the car).

No not those, didn't plan to 3d print those btw, was focused on the cab mount bushings or maybe I'm calling them by the wrong name. The 12 that go between the cab and the frame. We have a first gen forester running a 1 inch PETG lift kit for 3 or 4 years now that is getting heavily abused and it's holding up perfectly and I've done sway bar bushings on a couple of cars and some spring cushions. They are all holding up perfectly fine and get checked regularly, starting doing that out of necessity (poor local parts quality or just not available at all).
If you're interested in what kind of abuse they held up against; it has done about 40k km after that.
